Additional Safety Tips ·Cook safe—never walk away from what you are cooking. Turn pot handles inward so they cannot be bumped or reached by young children. ·Keep matches and lighters out of sight—lock these items up high and out of reach of children. Teach young children to tell you if they find these items. ·Use electricity safely—if your appliances smoke or have odd smells, blow fuses, trip circuit breakers or have frayed / cracked cords—replace them! Do not run extension cords across doorways or overload your circuits. ·Space heaters—keep portable heaters at least 3 feet away from anything that can burn. Turn them off when you go to bed or leave your home. 29
