LRC News
It has been an exciting summer term and we are now settled into the new building and our fantastic new LRC. We are hoping that staff and students will all be finding their way round the new space and great new resources (including our bank of iPads and Mac Books) before long. In between packing and unpacking we have organized lots of events for our students including a trip to the Sainsbury Centre for our Manga Club, Study skills sessions delivered by our colleagues at CCN, World Book Day and a Story writing competition judged by Norfolk based author Susannah Leigh and Nick Farrow. We are looking forward to our mini Literary Festival during the first week of July when we have a series of events planned. We will have authors Gail Gallagher, UEA lecturer Nonia Williams and poet Tom Warner all working with our students. There will be a trip to the Norwich School Book festival and Stephen Rickard will be running a workshop at CAN for teachers and librarians from across the county on motivating reluctant readers. The LRC is open every day from 8am to 4.30pm and the Learning Team are always on hand to help with research, homework or just choosing something to read.
