National Strike As you are probably aware a National Strike for teachers took place on Wednesday 26th March. This is a difficult time for the teaching profession nationally and we are pleased to say that we managed to minimise disruption and kept the school open at this important time of year with so many students coming up to taking their exams. Unfortunately this matter is unlikely to be unresolved for some time. We will keep you informed as soon as possible of any further disruption that may be planned. The Guardian School We'd Like competition result On a lighter note students Oli Jordan and Courtney Bale attended the Guardian ‘School We'd Like’ competition on Saturday 22nd March with Mr Thompson. They represented CAN very well at the final of this competition and received a runners-up cup. The project to refurbish and recycle disused computers gained national recognition and they were encouraged to bid to the National Lottery to grow the project. I am delighted with all their hard work on this and the great experience they gained by being involved.

Easter Revision Sessions A comprehensive revision programme is being prepared for sessions over the Easter break, please encourage your child to attend if they have been specifically identified for a session. The Sixth Form / LRC area will be available during the holiday from Mon 7th April – Thurs 17th April (except on 8th and 9th April when Holiday Club staff are out) if any Year 11 students wish to use this as a quiet place to study.
