Welcome

to Santa Barbara

A

nd welcome to the Pocket Concierge, a quick reference guide to all that is worth doing in Santa Barbara. No matter how long you stay, we know you’ll be back so keep a copy of this guide for future reference. Santa Barbara garners its share of the national attention for its location, people and activities: from its Oscar-nominated celebration of wine, women and scenery (in the movie Sideways) to its glitter of stars attending the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Though we shine on the silver screen, we’re better known for our beaches, mountain views, mild climate, restaurants, museums and friendly attitude toward visitors. If you wish, stop into an open house and see if the experts had it right by designating Santa Barbara one of the priciest places to live in America. But then again, I say you get what you pay for. Take a hike for some exercise; lay a towel on the beach for relaxation, stop into a cafe if you’re thirsty, dine at one of our fine restaurants when you hunger. After a couple of days you will see Santa Barbara is best not judged by price, but rather by value. And speaking of value, you will find no better than the free publication you hold in your hand. Use the maps, calendar of events, information pages and advertisements to navigate throughout your stay. You’re going to love it here. Come back as often as you can, because one trip to Santa Barbara is never enough. Thank you for letting us assist in your journey.
