2011 5-Year-Old Cheer Program *IMPORTANT: Registration will run thru July 22nd or until all 12 slots are filled, whichever comes first. Cheerleading will be available again this year, on a limited basis, to 5-year-olds in kindergarten. They must be 5 by July 22, 2011. This program is an introductory program which allows the girls to get an overview of the sport. They will learn a few cheers, basic jumps, sideline etiquette, etc.; but, most important they will have fun so that they can develop an interest in cheerleading. It will begin in September (date TBA) and run for 6 to 8 weeks. Practices will consist of one day a week at Buck Creek Park. The season will include the girls cheering at 2 of the Thompson Youth Football games (date TBA). Registration for the 5-Year-Old Cheer Program will begin on Tuesday, July 12th and conclude on July 22nd at the Depot (Parks & Recreation office). Space is limited to the first 12 who sign up so please register early. The registration fee is $80. (10% additional fee for non-residents) The fee includes skort, t-shirt, and poms. Note: NO CHECKS Accepted. Please pay with Cash, Debit, Visa, or Master Card. Once registration ends, we will notify you of a date for skort and t-shirt fittings. Cheerleaders will need to wear t-shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes to practice. They will have a couple of water breaks so feel free to bring a bottle of water.
