Volunteer Van Drivers
MAYC Bus Driver
Looking for a meaningful way to serve your community? Are you familiar with using a navigation system? Do you have a good driving record? If so, consider joining the fleet of MAYC bus drivers. Choose to be a substitute driver, or to be in the regular rotation. More drivers are needed to fill days when other drivers are on vacation or have an appointment. Basic hours are 9:45AM-4PM and one perk of the program is a free lunch at noon for drivers.

Does Diet and Lifestyle Affect Arthritis?
Friday, March 10, 10am, $6
The number of people with arthritis is growing. Following a healthy diet and staying active are recommended for treatment, to maintain quality of life, and may help with prevention. In this class with Health and Wellness Consultant Heather Carpentier, participants will look at holistic options that are available for arthritis. Advanced registration required. Minimum class size is 5.

St. Patrick's Day Fun

Top O’ the Day to Ye! Test your wits as you play trivia and learn fun facts about St. Patrick’s Day and spring while enjoying light refreshments and fellowship! Prizes to those who play trivia. Cooking with Glo
Fridays, March 10 & April 14, $21/session
In this fun, relaxed cooking class, Glo will demonstrate the preparation of various types of cooking. You will be able to enjoy what is prepared. This stand-up cooking class will take place in the kitchen. A face mask is required during the class. Participants will choose recipes from Glo’s list for her to prepare/ demonstrate in future classes. Size is limited to 8 participants. Registration and payment are due at least one week prior to class.
Doug Ohmann Presentation
Friday, March 24, 10:30am, $3
The final leg of the “Mississippi in Minnesota” journey begins as Doug paddles from St. Paul through the historic river towns to the Iowa border. His full color presentations and storytelling are sure you bring nostalgia and smiles as the photos are viewed on a large screen TV. Advanced registration required.
Movie of the Month
The Good House, Thursday, March 2, 1pm
Sigourney Weaver delivers a stellar performance as Hildy Good, a New England realtor, whose lively personality and seemingly successful life masks her one dark truth, she enjoys her wine a bit too much. A rekindled romance with high school flame Frank Getchell (Kevin Kline) sets a chain of events in motion that will challenge Hildy’s buried past and present the reality that her life will never change if she doesn’t ask for help. Enjoy this movie on the large screen TV at the MAYC. Registration required.

March Madness Week of Fun and Food Drive

Good neighbor bingo rules apply for prizes. Win a prize on your first bingo, thereafter, pass your prize to your neighbor on the right who has not yet won. Pay a nickel per card per round to win the collection cup. All are eligible to win a prize and cover all money collected.
Food Drive-in honor of MN Food Share Month
March 21-24, 8:30am-4pm
With the holiday season behind us, March is a good time to help re-stock the food shelves. Bring nonperishable food items to the MAYC during business hours. Food items will be collected through March 24 and delivered to the food shelf on March 27. Thanks in advance to those able to help.
Wii Bowling Tournament
Tuesday, March 21, 9:30am, $1
Everyone is invited to register to participate in this fun tournament using a handheld controller and viewing your ball on the large screen TV as you compete individually for payback prize money! Best poker hand from drawing cards for every strike or spare will also be awarded. Register in advance.

Blaine Bicycle Club
Wednesdays at Various Destinations, Weathering Permitting
Last year was the first year for this club. Organizer Deb McPeck invites interested bicyclists to join the email list to be notified of details for rides. Leaders are needed to host rides. Share where you have enjoyed riding and learn where others have been. Helmets are mandatory on these sponsored rides, and bright clothing is encouraged along with headlights and taillights. Bike locks are recommended. Some rides include lunch on the trail. This is a great way to meet people with common interests. ACCAP Services for Seniors
Senior Outreach Worker
The Senior Outreach Program aids seniors 60 years of age and older, helping people remain in their homes in the healthiest and safest manner possible. Meetings can be scheduled with an outreach worker to identify needs and discuss the appropriate services needed such as home-delivered meals, food programs, economic assistance, energy assistance, chore services, and more. A program of the Anoka County Community Action Program. This is a one-stop shop for minor home repairs, housekeeping, and seasonal chores. Call 763-783-4767 now to get on the summer lawn mowing list or for other needs this spring.
National Foot Health Awareness - Foot Care
Generally 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the Month, 8am-4pm, $40 Holistic Foot and Nail Care Nurse, Laura Newton, offers half hour foot care appointments on specified Thursdays each month. Included in the visit is a foot and leg cleansing spritz, examination, toenail trim, and lower leg and foot lotion and massage. Appointments fill quickly, so plan at least a month out when registering. Bring a towel to your appointment.
AARP Income Tax Assistance
Tuesdays by Appointment, 9am-12pm
In-person appointments are back! Appointments are 30 minutes each. Be prepared by having all your items needed to file your income taxes including health insurance card, Social Security card, license/ photo ID, copy of last year’s 2021filed taxes, all 2022 documents to file. Liver and Onion Day
Thursday, March 9, 12pm, $5
A favorite meal for many, staff will be preparing a homemade meal of liver and onions, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, bread, and a cookie. The meal alternate is beef patty with mushroom gravy. Specify alternate at time of registration, which is due by March 2.

With the winter season still upon us and given the challenging weather we have experienced this season, it has been determined that when Anoka/Hennepin School District closes, the MAYC will be closed.
If you are uncertain if MAYC and/or dining will be closed, call staff before venturing out on the roads at 763-786-9375
