Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Important dates for diary

FE chaplaincy is available to help students/staff of all faiths or no faith in their spiritual and moral development, to explore faith and to seek meaning and purpose in life.

Spiritual and moral development

Spiritual, moral, social and cultural education (SMSC) is highly relevant and useful for the development of students.

FE chaplains exist to benefit all in the college:

• To be a resource for spiritual and moral development • To help individuals at times of spiritual need or crisis • To help all groups and communities which wish to practice their faith or belief • Explore what it means to be human, the meaning and purpose of life

• To be a resource at times of spiritual need or crisis • To facilitate curriculum input on spiritual, moral or religious issues • To facilitate partnerships and links with communities

Wider College support

• To maintain an ethos of learning that nurtures the whole person and the whole community • To enable the college to meet Ofsted and

Children Act, British Values and PREVENT requirements • To support access, retention and recruitment of students from all communities, especially those from deprived and marginalised communities.

The College Corporation (Board of Governors) work closely with the Executive Team to approve the College strategic priorities and direction. Governors help the College maintain a long-term focus, while overseeing short-term goals and plans. Governors volunteer their time and are involved in a variety of activities including attendance at Main Board and committee meetings; visiting the College through the Governor Link Scheme via links to curriculum areas; supporting with contacts and relationship building in the City and the region and a wide range of other activities. Meet the Chair of the Corporation

Name: Peter Rilett Background: A former senior partner with KPMG Bristol for more than 33 years before retiring.Peter was recruited as the Chair and has served in this role for five years.

In addition to chairing the College Corporation, Peter is also a Board member and non-executive Director for, and advisor to, multiple local companies and charities.
