Computational Thinking and Design with Minecraft Camp (8-11 YRS)

Coding Arcade Games Camp (9-11 YRS)

We will be looking to develop student programming skills by creating and modding retro arcade games with Blocks in the MakeCode editor. We will be trying to build games that take us to other worlds to live out fantastic adventures - be it zappin’ aliens or exploring underground caverns. We will be following a drag-n-drop way to develop games that takes care of all the grungy parts and let you get straight to the fun parts.

In this course, players will explore a blocky, procedurally-generated 3D world, discover and extract raw materials, craft tools, and build structures or earthworks. Minecraft is the perfect avenue for designers and game builders to explore the basics of design, engineering and computational thinking and work on their problem-solving skills while developing these out-of-the-world virtual environments. In this course, we harvest the love kids have for constructing worlds in Minecraft to teach computational thinking skills and help bring an art curriculum alive.

Design your own Resource Packs for Minecraft Camp (8-11 YRS)

This is a camp which focuses on the design aspect of Minecraft and less on the Gameplay. We will be working on getting kids familiar with image-editing software and then using that knowledge to implement the end products that they designed, into their Minecraft world. This course requires that the child is familiar with the basics of Minecraft and has played Minecraft before, since we will not be able to introduce children to the basics of Minecraft.
