Join us as community speaker from Beyond Blue, Camilla Martin, talks about mental health wellbeing.

Camilla is a management consultant who has lived and worked around the world. She is a volunteer speaker, meditation teacher and triathlete, and was even a triathlon referee at the 2012 London Olympic Games. Camilla became a Beyond Blue speaker to challenge the stereotypical view of those with mental health conditions; she wants to share her experience with others to help them see that they’re not alone.

MENTAL HEALTH MONTH FREE VIRTUAL TALK WITH CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST, LIL VRKLEVSKI

THURSDAY, 21 OCTOBER FROM 12-1PM

Join us as clinical psychologist Lil Vrklevski speaks about strategies for maintaining positive mental health during times of high change and stress, as well as how to be proactive in connecting with others when concerned about their emotional and social wellbeing. Lil Vrklevski is Principal Clinical Psychologist and Director of Psychology at Sydney Local Health District. Lil has over 30 years’ experience in law and clinical psychology. She has worked clinically in the areas of sexual violence, mental health and the impact of trauma work on professionals.

TALK FOR PARENTS & CARERS with Dr Nikki Brunker

Wednesday, 13 October 6:30-7:30pm Join City of Canada Bay Libraries and Dr Nikki Brunker this October for a talk on mental health and wellbeing while supporting schooling from home. The talk will include tips on daily essentials, coping mechanisms during COVID-19, and guidance going forward as students begin to transition back to school.

Dr Brunker is currently a teacher educator and lecturer with The University of Sydney and homeschooling mum.

DRUMMOYNE COMMUNITY CENTRE COMMUNITY GARDENING GROUP This group meet at Drummoyne Preschool and share their passion for planting, pruning, and potting. The rewards are shared with the preschool children. When: Mondays at 10:30am fortnightly.

PEACE MEDITATION DELIVERED ONLINE This mediation is done under the guidance of a trained practitioner and uses imagery, music, and other techniques. When: Second Friday of every month.

MINDFULNESS & MEDITATION DELIVERED ONLINE These meditation sessions run under the guidance of a trained practitioner and use imagery, music and other techniques. The sessions incorporate mindfulness exercises, along with meditation. When: Tuesdays at 4:00pm weekly.
