Join us at the Miracle League of Dubuque baseball field every Wednesday and Saturday! The Open Field program is free and open to all ages and abilities. No registration is required. Just show up and PLAY BALL! See you on the field starting June 19.

Soccer Camp

Ages: 7 - 15 yrs. YATH2007-01

$150 M-Th, July 22 - 25 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Loras College Rock Bowl Stadium

Loras College Soccer Camp provides a week of top quality soccer instruction and fun! We focus on each camper’s individual technique, while applying skills in practice, small-sided games, and various competitions. The coaches will also teach each camper the tactical side of the sport.

Campers will be grouped according to age and ability level. Each day will include “cooling off time” in the Loras swimming pool and lunch in the Loras Cafeteria. Campers will receive an evaluation at the end of the week.

Asbury Park Sports Camps

Each two-week sports camp offers two sessions for children ages 6 – 12. Sessions will be combined depending on the number of participants in each. Beginner camps will focus on learning basic skills and rules of the games with a strong emphasis on having fun, teamwork and good sportsmanship. Intermediate camps will work on refining existing proficiencies and learning more advanced skills. Campers will also learn more about scoring and proper terminology while playing the game.

Fast KIDZ Running Class

Locations:

Tuesdays: Flora Park (by softball diamonds)

Thursdays: Wahlert High School track.

Come learn about the great sport of running! We will focus on proper form, agility, mobility, balance, power, and of course the speed needed for running everything from the 100 meter dash to the 5k. All abilities welcome! Please make sure your child wears proper attire and brings a bottle of water. No class on July 4. No makeups for inclement weather. Beginner

• Individuals with little or no tennis experience.

• All 5 – 10 year olds must register as a beginner and may be moved depending on skill level.

• Class will focus on introducing basic tennis skills and rules of play.

Advanced Beginner

• Individuals that have taken lessons before but still working to develop their skills.

• Class will continue to work on basic skills and work to develop ball control and swing consistency.

Intermediate

On the first day of lessons, intermediate students should be capable of:

• Returning ten consecutive balls tossed alternately to their forehand and back hand.

• Serving 10 balls to each service court; at least five in each court must be good.

• Understanding rules and scoring.

• Rally back and forth with opponent.

Advanced Intermediate

On the first day of lessons, students should have previously completed the intermediate class and/or be capable of:

• Exhibit command of the skills such as forehand, backhand, volleys and serving.

• Ability to rally 10 consecutive balls against opponent controlling direction and speed of shots.

• This class will work to teach match play and match strategy.

Quick Start Tennis Lessons

Men’s, women’s, and mixed softball leagues will be offered Monday - Thursday evenings. Tentatively, games will begin the week of September 2 with a six game guarantee.
