Ultimate Frisbee Camps Chicago Union Youth Ultimate Frisbee Summer Camp Ultimate is a non-contact, action-packed sport played with a flying disc (Frisbee TM) where players pass the disc from one player to the next until someone catches it in the opponent’s end zone for a goal, worth one point. Players can’t run with the disc, and anytime the disc hits the ground, is intercepted, or goes out of bounds, it’s a turnover, and the defense takes over possession without any stoppage in play. Special Needs Science, Math & Sports Camp

Pee Wee Sports Camp

The City of Evanston and Northwestern’s Center for Talent Development (CTD) have teamed up to provide children with experiences in a variety of sports and enriching math and science explorations. Our teachers and coaches offer a blend of athletics and academics in a fun and enjoyable camp setting.

Introduce your child to summer camp! Pee Wee Sports Camp is a great way for young campers to prepare for future full day summer camps. In this camp, popular children’s games are combined with fun sports activities. Campers feel comfortable in a noncompetitive and supportive atmosphere as they learn new games and make new friends! Throughout camp we will encourage campers to improve their ability to play on a team and grow as individuals. Please be sure to pack a snack for your camper. Manager: Eric Eichholz, 847-448-8685 Age: 4-5 yrs. Fee: $250 R/$275 NR *Fee: $225 R/$250 NR Location: Leahy

Session 1: Math for Sports Math can help us understand more about our favorite sports. In this session, campers run, kick, shoot and score and then measure, calculate, analyze, and estimate to demonstrate how math and sports are on the same team.

Session 2: Extreme Code Breaking Breaking a code often involves identifying a pattern. Campers use computational thinking and reasoning skills to identify patterns of numbers, words, letters, and symbols to understand codes. Then they apply what they have learned to create and crack a variety of increasingly complex codes.

Session 3: Digging Canals and Tunnels Aspiring engineers learn about canals and tunnels, and how these amazing transportation systems are used. Campers strengthen designthinking skills as they design, build and test models of canals and tunnels.

Session 4: Playground Math How do you measure the angle of a slide? What geometric shapes are used to build a playground? Campers use math topics such as scale, measurements and geometry as they explore the playground first-hand before designing and building their own model playground.

Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development (CTD) provides hands-on, engaging courses for academically advanced students during the summer and academic year. In-person and online courses are fast-paced and encourage students to explore topics in depth. Manager: Eric Eichholz, 847-448-8685 Location: Ackerman Park Age: 6-8 yrs.
