2015 Highlights • Citizen’s Fire Academy
Conducted the second annual Citizen’s Fire Academy. Over nine weeks, 18 Evanston residents learned all aspects of operations and participated in hands-on drills.
• The Citizen CPR Program
The Citizen CPR Program taught 580 people cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid.
• A New Aerial Ladder Truck Graduates of the inaugural Citizen’s Fire Academy
A new aerial ladder truck was placed into service at Station 3. The new truck replaced one that was 24 years old.
• Renovations
Much-needed renovations were completed at Stations 2 and 4.
• Video Conferencing
Video conferencing capabilities were installed at each of the Fire Stations and Fire Headquarters.
• New Hire Eligibility List
The Department, in cooperation with Human Resources, completed the process of posting a new hire eligibility list. The list will remain valid for two years. Truck 23

The Fire Explorer Program had 12 teenagers complete the course.
