PARKING IN GOLDEN Know Before You Go!

Golden has plenty of parking available. If parking outside the downtown area, note that surrounding neighborhoods have resident permit parking. Read signs and choose a spot carefully.

Downtown Parking

Parking is free for the first two hours in downtown parking lots and garages. Always register your vehicle license plates at the pay station or by using the Parkmobile app, even if you are staying for less than two hours. Parking garages are located on Jackson Street between 11th and 13th and often have available spots.

Accessibility Parking

The map above indicates designated accessible parking for our visitors who may need to park in close proximity to downtown. Additional designated spaces are located within both parking garages.

Paid Parking

• Paid public parking garage at Calvary Church 1320 Arapahoe Street.

• Paid parking at the Colorado School of Mines campus. During operational hours, visitors should park in the General and Commuter lots. All Visitor parking areas have a pay-and-display parking meter.

• Parking on 10th Street west of Washington Avenue (Clear Creek Corridor) requires either a permit or a fee from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Alternative Transportation Options

Golden can be accessed by car, bus or rail so consider alternative transportation options to reduce your carbon footprint.

Free Two-Hour Parking: 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

• Parking in the Orange zones, shown on the map above, is available for only 2 hours.

• You may not park longer than two hours in these areas.

• After 5 p.m., park here free and for the evening.

• Two-hour parking is in effect in these areas seven days a week.

• Starting in summer 2023, free public parking is available at Marv Kay Stadium “North” K Lot, 11th and Maple Streets.

Clear Creek Corridor Parking

There is a designated Clear Creek parking lot with plenty of FREE parking, located at 304 10th Street at the intersection of 10th and Archer Streets. RV parking is allowed during the day. Staying overnight is prohibited.

Bus/Shuttle — RTD 16 bus runs from downtown Golden to downtown Denver. There is an option on the “W” Rail Line to transfer at the Oak Street Station to the 16 bus directly to/from downtown Golden.

The West Rail Line (Light Rail Service) — The West Rail Line, or “W” Line, provides service to Golden from Denver and DIA. Upon arrival in Golden you can walk, bike or taxi to downtown Golden. Walkers/bikers can take the 6th Avenue Trail or travel along Johnson Road to Ford Sreet.

Total distance is 2.5 miles.

FlexRide — FlexRide provides extended bus service in specific Denver metro areas. Call 303-299-6000 for more info or to reserve a ride.

Other Transportation — Rent a bike at a local bike shops or call Denver Yellow Cab at 303-777-7777 or use a ride share app.
