ENJOY THEAUTUMN COLORS

Walk alongside Clear Creek lined for miles with blazing AUTUMN COLORS yellow, orange and burnt red cottonwoods and maples.

EAT OUTSIDE: Golden’s patios offer fabulous patio dining or plan to attend the Chili Cook-off presented by the Golden Chamber of Commerce, on October 14th. Enjoy chili and beer tasting, a live band and a silent auction; all in Parfet Park.

TAKE ON LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN: With cooler temps, many cyclists favor an autumn ride up Lookout Mountain. Otherwise, make the drive up Lookout to get an outstanding view of the fall colors in the Clear Creek Valley.

The Golden Glass Orb Hunt, October 1 - 31

Throughout the entire month of October, a beautiful one-of-a-kind glass orb will be hidden daily somewhere in Golden by Foothills Art Center. These valuable glass orbs are handcrafted by a Colorado artist. Location clues are posted to Instagram - it’s a fun way to hunt for treasure in the gorgeous town of Golden! Autumn Fest, October 3

The Golden History Museum (923 10th St.) and Golden History Park present a packed afternoon of fun with free family activities, including 4-H petting zoo, BIG TRUCK demo (Streets, Fire, and Police Departments), costumed Civil War interpretation, Westernaires pony rides ($3 per ride), CODA Brewing Company beer garden and local food vendors, and more.

Golden Beer Tasting and Chili Cook Off, October 9

Spice up your fall with Golden’s beloved annual autumn salute to chili and beer. The event will be held in Parfet Park at 10th and Washington and is sure to “knock your boots off!” More info is available at VisitGolden.com.

Harvest Haunt at the Museum!, October 23

The Colorado Railroad Museum’s annual Halloween-themed steam-up event is back for 2021! Grounds are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with activities taking place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., including train rides. Guests are encouraged to come in costume for Trick-or-Treating!
