Summer has arrived, and it’s time to cool off by the water or in the water or maybe even to learn some new skills on the water! High Point Parks & Recreation offers lots of water-based recreation programs this summer.

First, though, let’s talk about those pools! After an extensive renovation process, High Point City Lake Park’s pool is open, offering a gorgeous 50-meter swimming pool, a lazy river and zero-depth entry, three water slides, a splash pad with play features and family-friendly changing rooms. Daily hours of operation are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Admission to the pool and water slides is $10 per person for High Point residents, $15 for non-residents and free for children ages two and under. Lap swimming is available from 7 – 9 a.m. daily; cost is $5 for High Point residents and $7 for non-residents.

Daily passes, advance tickets and season passes are available for individuals and families. Please visit www.highpointnc.gov/citylakepark for information or call the

Washington Terrace Park also offers a spacious, pool with a zero-depth entry, a waterslide and wading pool. This cool pool is open seven days a week from noon – 6 p.m. Admission is $2 per person with children ages two and under admitted free. A large accessible playground is also onsite. The Splash Pad behind Southside Recreation Center is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. This is a fantastic way to cool off quickly on those hot days and it can easily be enjoyed by younger children. There is no cost to visit this location; please note a parent must accompany children at all times.
