Toddlers will love this hands-on learning experience about the bullfrog and its natural habitat and growth cycle! They will also create their very own "ribbiting" craft!

Parents & Toddlers: Earthworm Crawl (Ages 2 - 5) Dig in the dirt as you search for nature's best-kept secret: earthworms! How are these small invertebrates the backbone of our soil and compost bins? Learn more when you bring your toddler and dig with a PEC naturalist. You’ll even get to make your own worm-in-an-apple craft to take home!

Enjoy a guided sunset tour by kayak around beautiful Oak Hollow Lake! Registration is required in advance, closing when capacity is reached. At that time, interested participants will be put on a waiting list and notified if spots become available.

Community Garden Plots (All Ages)

Community gardens provide opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds to work side by side towards common goals of improving food security, increasing fruit and vegetable intake and leading healthier lives. Participants will donate 10 percent of their harvests to local food organizations. Call for more information about community garden plots or to register.

NC Year of the Trail Hike (All Ages)

Please join PEC staff for a monthly hike on High Point’s trails and greenways! Each hike will begin at 9 a.m., take 1 - 1.5 hours and vary in mileage. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring water. Meet at PEC’s visitor center unless noted. Registration is required.
