High Point Greenway

The High Point Greenway is a 4.9-mile paved trail beginning at Armstrong Park (305 E. Parkway Ave.) and ending at Piedmont Environmental Center (1220 Penny Road).

High Point City Lake Park Trail - 0.5 miles (This trail connects High Point City Lake Park with the Piedmont Environmental Center)

Bicentennial Greenway

The 6.2-mile High Point section of the Bicentennial Greenway begins at the Piedmont Environmental Center (1220 Penny Road) and runs to Gallimore Dairy Road. The Greenway then travels through Greensboro, connecting to the Atlantic and Yadkin Greenway at the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park.

Natural Surface Trails

High Point offers 6.6 miles of natural surface trails through hardwood and pine forests and lakeside habitats in the North and South Preserves at the Piedmont Environmental Center (1220 Penny Road).

Southwest Heritage Greenway

This .44-mile paved trail runs between Vail Avenue and Grimes Avenue, with parking located at the Southside Recreation Center (401 Taylor Ave.). From Taylor Avenue to Grimes Avenue, enjoy the Botanical Woodland Teaching Garden, a helixshaped walkway that combines art with nature.

West End Cross Country Course & Walking Trail

A 1.5-mile natural surface walking trail is located at West End Park (1701 Edgewood Drive). This course can be reserved by groups for a cross country meet for $100 per meet. Please call 336.883.3480 to check availability.

Urban Hikes

In partnership with the High Point Library, we've created an Urban Hikes Map with eight trails starting from the High Point Public Library. All the hikes are accessible by sidewalk.

Other Walking Loops

Aderholdt Track (High Point Athletic Complex): one loop = .25 miles

Allen Jay Recreation Center and Park (1073 E. Springfield Road): one loop = .5 miles

Burnett Park (1051 Montlieu Ave.): one loop = .3 miles

Washington Street Park (738 Washington St.): one loop around playground = .1 mile

Washington Terrace Park (101 Gordon St.): one loop = .3 miles
