Process
OUR PROCESS Outreach • Meetings with community stakeholders and local agencies •
Community Meetings Held - February 15, March 1, March 17
Listen • What's important to stakeholders?
Respond • Are plan revisions possible? • Can we find solutions to current issues?
WHAT WE HEARD
HOW WE RESPONDED
• Project proximity to the Little Blue Trace Trail.
• We eliminated two buildings closest to the trail from our plans and agreed to a landscape buffer at locations where trail is close.
• Development around Horseshoe Lake. • Traffic congestion at Jackson Drive & Little Blue Parkway.
• No longer proposing development around Horseshoe Lake with application and we have eliminated warehouse use closest to the RD Mize/LBP intersection.
• Protection of green space and creation of both active and passive recreation areas.
• Dedicating significant open and park space along the trail corridor.
• Environmental concerns around wildlife, such as American Bald Eagle, in the project area.
• Conducting proper studies (threatened and endangered species, flood studies, and extensive traffic studies) for review by local, state and federal agencies.
