Lee’s Summit Illustrated • Summer/Fall 2021
LSPR had a fantastic summer, and fall is shaping up to be just as enjoyable. Our offerings for fall will look similar to years past but with a few surprises, including the addition of Night Flight and Tour de Lakes. Traditionally, these two events take place in June of each year, however, we were still dealing with COVID-19 during the planning phase for the 2021 events. So we decided in January, if feasible, to offer both in the fall. And here we are, fall 2021, and both events are on the calendar. I am very pleased LSPR can offer Night Flight and Tour de Lakes before the end of the year and I anticipate the events will be well attended. Details for each event can be found on the inside cover of this edition of the Illustrated.
A couple of other special events to highlight include our popular “Pooch Paddle” dog swim at Summit Waves and the Kid’s Fishing Derby located at Legacy Lake. Both events were put on hold in 2020 and we are thrilled to reintroduce them in 2021. Information for each event can also be found on the inside cover of this edition of the Illustrated.

Finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the opening of Summit Ice later this fall. This popular destination is the only outdoor ice rink in eastern Jackson County and provides a great way to exercise and enjoy winter time fun. We offer several ways to enjoy the frozen pond including skate lessons, rentals, pond hockey, special events and, of course, public skate opportunities.
