1. Overview of the Project
£3 million pound project to improve the thermal efficiency of the tower block which will address fuel poverty for residents within the building.
The work to be carried out is: - External Wall Insulation - Biomass Boiler System - Window Replacement - Improved insulation to the ceilings within the 16th floor
The project is eligible for grant funding which will be awarded on completion of the project to a value of £560,000 worth of carbon credits.
2. External Wall Insulation System Specified: Alsecco Ecomin 300 Description: Mechanically fixed with supplementary adhesive system – comprising of mineral wool, glass fibre reinforcing mesh and render finish Key Factors: Thermal Performance – 100mm mineral wool enhances U value from 1.6 to 0.29 Strength and Stability – Adequately resists wind loads and impacts Behaviour in relation to fire – Classified in accordance with current building regulations Durability – Expected life in excess of 60 years Aesthetics – Improved exterior As part of the improved insulation, the roof area will also be insulated.

4. Heating & Hot Water within Each Flat Heat Interface Unit To be installed in the existing airing cupboard Radiators To be fitted in the most advantageous position within each room Copper pipe work running at high and low levels in each flat to radiators Programmable and controllable heating Installation of individual pre-payment meters in each flat

5. Window and Balcony Door Replacement All windows will have self-cleaning, energy efficient glass and built in restrictors for safety purposes New balcony door will open inwards All windows and balcony doors are grey UPVC to match the aesthetics of the building
6. New Ventilation System ď ą A new, more efficient ventilation system will be installed.
ď ą New independent extractor fan to be fitted in each kitchen.
7. Other Works to be Delivered as Part of the Project
Communal electrical rewire with new LED lighting
Upgraded communal TV aerial system
Bird Protection to window cills and roof line
8. Improvement to External Appearance ď Ž
Following the completion of these major improvement works, the external colour of the building will change from its current appearance and an illustration of this is shown within this presentation.

The new two tone colour scheme for Shuttleworth House will harmonise more sympathetically with the grey windows to give a fresh modern feel.
9. Project Delivery Details
We commenced site set-up on the 2nd March 2015
The main body of work will commence in April 2015, for a duration of approximately 6 months

11.Tenant Process for Purchasing Heat and Hot Water
City of Lincoln Council will be the energy provider for the heating and hot water system and will set the tariff
Tenants will continue to purchase their electricity from their current provider
Each flat will have its own smart meter (same principle as a pre-payment meter)
Digital display confirming current balance
Tenants can purchase credit online, over the telephone or at a local pay-point facility
