The purpose of this resource guide is to compile into one convenient source the many programs, interventions, and educational opportunities being offered to our youth by the City of Lynchburg and their partners, during the summer months. While there are many other programs not listed in this guide that are offered by community organizations, non-profits, churches, and community leaders, this resource guide is specific to the programming made available by the City of Lynchburg. Readers are encouraged to also reach out and explore the vast and abundant programs being offered to our youth by the community.

This resource guide covers four key areas of programming for “summer fun and safety”: safety, recreation, education, and food. The City of Lynchburg offers opportunities for young people to learn everything from archery skills to designing stormdrain solutions! While young people will have the opportunity to learn and play, there will also be an emphasis on safety and making sure food is available to our young people throughout the city!
