Just for Kids

Our Just for Kids programs offer a great way for parents and grandparents to spend quality time with young children or take a little time for themselves while their children participate in a class. Children also benefit by socializing with others in enjoyable classes that can include singing, dancing, creating art and learning new skills. Look for new classes and family favorites every quarter!

Young children attending without a parent must be completely potty-trained and able to use the restroom independently. If your child is not potty-trained but would like to participate in one of our programs, please call 636-474-2732 for information on making arrangements.

Renaud Center Preschool • Ages 3–5

Join us for fun and learning at the Renaud Center Preschool! Our qualified instructors will help your child develop skills in language arts, math, science and more. The preschool will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Three sessions are offered per year with both M/W/F sessions and M/W sessions.

Come Learn with Me • Ages 3–5

Students will have a great time learning the alphabet, numbers, colors and shapes through singing songs, working puzzles and exploring art.

STEM Challenge! • Ages 3–5

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) develops thinking, reasoning, teamwork, investigative and creative skills that students can use in all areas of their lives.

Little Chefs • Ages 3–5 Junior Chefs • Ages 6–9

Develop your child’s love for cooking and healthy eating in this fun four-week class.

Kool Kiddos • Ages 3–5

This six-week class encourages young children to learn, explore, ask questions and socialize as they play games, sing, make crafts, snacks and much more.

Mommy and Me • Ages 2 and under

This fun parent and child class will work on milestones through fine and gross motor play!

Babysitting 101 • Ages 11–15

Sign your child up for our babysitting course to learn basic child care skills, knowledge, safety precautions, first aid and more. After completing this six-hour course, your child will receive a Community CPR/AED & Standard First Aid Certification and a first aid kit! Min/Max: 6/12

Preschool Pals • Ages 3–5 Through December

Are you looking to keep your preschooler busy? Look no further than our Preschool Pals! On the first of each month, we'll release a new themed box filled with supplies and activities. Each box costs $25 and will be available for purchase beginning on the 15th of the previous month until the 1st, or until sold out. Get a sneak peek at each box on the Renaud Center's facebook page!

Sessions are six weeks unless otherwise stated.

Wee Tumblers • Ages 1½–3

Both the parent and child will both be actively involved in all activities. This includes music, streamers, hoops, parachutes and ball activities. Basic rolls, crab walks and cartwheels are introduced. Min/Max: 5/10

Tiny Tumblers • Ages 3–4

This child-only class is for young preschoolers. Activities include music, streamers, hoops, parachutes and balls. Basic rolls, crab walks and cartwheels are introduced. Min/Max: 5/8

Tumble Tots • Ages 4–5

This class is for the more experienced preschooler. They will begin to use more of the equipment to develop their strength and flexibility. Min/Max: 5/10

Beginning Tumbling • Ages 5+

This tumbling class will start to cover major skills. Forward rolls, backward rolls, bridges, tripods, handstands, cartwheels and splits are all introduced. Min/Max: 5/10

Intermediate Tumbling • Ages 5+

Prerequisite: Beginning Tumbling and teacher recommendation; must have backward roll and cartwheel mastered.

Advanced Tumbling • Ages 5+

Prerequisite: Intermediate Tumbling and teacher recommendation; must have backbend kickover and 3-second handstand hold mastered.

Lil’ Ninja Warrior • Ages 3–6 Junior Ninja Warrior • Ages 5–9

Participants will complete obstacles, build endurance and strength, learn tricks and have fun, ninja style! Min/Max: 5/10

Martial Arts

Tae Kwon Do • Ages 3–5, Ages 6–9, Ages 10–16 and Family (Ages 5 – Adult)

This six-week Martial Arts program will focus on the traditional Korean form of Tae Kwon Do known as Chung Do Kwan. This style is based on explosive movements, devastating power and self-discipline. All students begin training at the “no belt” level. Students will progress through a series of techniques and belts at their own pace and will not necessarily test each session. Children who would like to progress at a faster pace may register for more than one class. Min/Max: 7/20

Civic Dance Studio

This great 9-month dance program encourages students to practice and improve throughout the school year and culminates with a year-end dance recital. New students can be accepted into the program at any time. Classes are held at the Krekel Civic Center, 305 Civic Park Drive, O’Fallon 63366.

Civic Dance Studio classes emphasize correct technique, placement, elegance and discipline. Class typically includes a warmup, progressive steps across the floor and dance combos. Ballet classes include ballet and en pointe at the barre. Tuition does not include the required dance class attire (dance shoes, leotards or tights) or recital costumes. Civic Dance Studio also has a Competition Team. Private lessons are also available. Field trip/in-house activity costs are included in the fees! Our qualified counselors will coordinate activities and supervise campers. Campers must bring sack lunches, a snack and drinks daily; no refrigeration is available for food. Registration is made on a first-come, first-served basis with a limited number of spots for each session. Please note, camp themes and field trips are subject to change without notice. Campers must be registered at least two weeks in advance, and sessions must be paid in full at that time. Registration closes when the session is full, or two weeks before camp starts, whichever comes first. When you register, we need your email address so we can send weekly updates about camp. Transportation to Alligator’s Creek Swim Lessons now being offered at Camp GATOR!

Let us get your child to swim lessons this summer! Sign up for the 9:35-10:10A or 10:15-10:50A swim lessons at Alligator’s Creek, and campers that are also registered for Camp GATOR will be escorted by camp staff to the pool for their lesson. When enrolling for the swim lesson, be sure to check YES! when asked if your child will be attending Camp GATOR. Please note, transportation ends on August 5.

Counselor-in-Training • Ages 13–15

This six-week program offers formal job training with our professional staff. Student counselors will practice newlylearned skills through role-playing and on-the-job training exercises. Our goal is to train our staff of tomorrow, so applicants undergo a rigorous selection process and must be willing to commit to set schedules in order to participate. Interested candidates must apply first and go through a formal interview. If chosen, an approved applicant can then register for the program. This is a competitive program and we will be limiting the number of spots offered. Applications are available online or at the front desk. Creating a community mural is an activity that can bring local residents together to create unity.
