Mayor’s Message
The City of Penticton’s 2022-2026 Council Priorities set out Council’s ambition to make our shared vision of a vibrant and connected community a reality.
This is the foundation upon which we build a stronger Penticton together and provides the framework for how we will align municipal decisions going forward. From planning to infrastructure to amenities, Council Priorities are designed to bring a cohesion to decisions and breakdown any silos.
As one of the fastest growing cities in British Columbia, it is vital that we all understand the direction and steps needed to keep Penticton a vibrant, prosperous and safe community.
Council Priorities provides leadership from City Council to City staff in developing business plans and budgets, and enables the organization to continually monitor progress. This is a living document, designed to be more adaptable as challenges present themselves over the next four years.
The four guiding principals, outlined in the following pages, are: Safe and Resilient; Livable and Accessible; Vibrant and Connected and Organizational Excellence. These principles along with the corresponding projects and initiatives form the roadmap for City of Penticton over the next four years. They also will inform the City’s business plan and Annual Report, which provide performance measures.
As your City Council, we are excited to begin this work and reward the trust you have put in us to lead such a dynamic and vibrant community. Our location, history and people means the future is bright for Penticton. Through this 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, we have set out our commitment to you to developing an inclusive, vibrant and sustainable city and one that is committed to walking the path of reconciliation with our neighbours.
