ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT RENTAL PROGRAM

Ages: All | Cost: Varies Our adaptive recreation equipment is available to rent (sport wheelchairs, beach wheelchairs, hand cycles, etc.). Affordable prices for participants to try before they buy.

ACCESS FOR ALL

Providing accommodations to those with disabilities to participate in leisure and recreation programs, classes, and services. To participate in a program, contact Inclusion Services a minimum of five business days prior to the program. Hearing impaired individuals can use Nevada Relay by dialing 711 for assistance.

SPINAL CORD INJURY/ DISEASE LUNCH AND LEARN

Ages: All | Cost: Free

3rd Wednesday 11:30am-1pm

Location: EMNECC/Online Join City of Reno, VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System, Renown Health and High Fives Foundation for Spinal Cord Injury/Disease specific resources, topics and guest speakers during our monthly community-based luncheons.

WHEELCHAIR RUGBY

Ages: All | Cost: $50

Saturdays 12-3pm

Location: EMNECC Season Start: August 14, 2021 Wheelchair or quad rugby is a fastpaced and competitive sport for people with physical disabilities. Players use special “rugby wheelchairs” and must be able to push their own wheelchairs.

WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL

Ages: All | Cost: $50

Fridays 6-8pm

Season Start: August 13 Location: Plumas Gym Are you interested in the extreme challenge of wheelchair basketball? Wheelchair basketball is a sport for everyone - people who use wheelchairs for mobility and people who don’t.

SLED HOCKEY

Ages: All | Cost: $50

Sundays 10:30-11:30am

Location: Reno Ice - 15500 Wedge Parkway, Reno Season Start: March 28, 2021 Participants with physical disabilities will get a chance to learn about sled hockey and get on the ice. All equipment and on-ice instruction provided. Please wear long pants and closed toed shoes. No prior experience necessary. HERO City of Reno. Fit But Not Forgotten

Ages: 18+ | Cost: Free

Thursday 5:30-6:30pm

Friday 10-11am

This program offers weekly fitness classes in our facility weight room covering equipment, fitness level assessment, strength development techniques, fitness goal discussion, endurance and flexibility. Upon completion of four classes, participants will be eligible for a free all-inclusive one year facility membership.

This program is funded from a grant provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Adaptive Sports

Grant.

Military Sports Camp

September 13-17, 2021

The City of Reno will host 15 disabled veterans and injured service members with their spouse/ guest for a multi-day event. There is no cost to military servicemen or women and their guest. Registration preferences will be given to Nevada

Service Members and residents.

SCHOLARSHIPS

City of Reno Scholarships! If you are a Reno resident you may be eligible to receive a scholarship. Pick-up an application at any of our locations to take advantage of this program. For more information, go to page 6.
