Gillian Aldridge, OAM Mayor of Salisbury
Wow, we’re almost half way through the year! Although we’re now in cooler weather, there’s still plenty to do across our wonderful City and I am excited to share with you some of the fantastic events and activities happening throughout our community between April and July 2023.
The Watershed Creative Prize Exhibition is back again and will be taking place this May, showcasing some of the best local art and creativity our community has to offer. This is a wonderful opportunity to support our talented artists and to experience the diverse and vibrant creative culture that exists in our community.
The Salisbury Community Youth Market will also be on later in the month, providing young people with a chance to kick start a career of their own. These markets are a great opportunity to support small businesses and local artists whilst finding a few treasures of your own in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
For those with younger ones looking for something fun and family friendly this Winter, you’ll want to check out the great range of programs and events including the Salisbury Community Fun Day being held at the Ingle Farm Recreation Centre on Sunday 4 June. This event promises to be a fun-filled day for the whole family, with activities including indoor inflatables, balloon artists, face painting, ball pit, soft play for the littlies and much more.
Plus, don’t forget we have a fantastic array of July school holiday programs and monthly Saturday Sessions in store!
I encourage you all to get involved in these upcoming events and activities, and to continue to support and strengthen our wonderful community! So, bring your friends and family along to enjoy the festivities!

COMMUNITY Fun Day Salisbury
Off to the Markets
Community markets are popping up all around Salisbury!
Building on the success of our annual Christmas Market, the City of Salisbury last year launched the Salisbury Community Markets, an exciting collection of events for the whole community to enjoy.
The Salisbury Community Markets offer producers, businesses and community groups the opportunity to gather at a central hub location to promote their small businesses and showcase their skills in a safe and welcoming environment. These free events each deliver their own theme and feature local stallholders who provide a range of amazing products, tasty food and a family-friendly atmosphere.
To date, the City of Salisbury has already hosted three successful markets with a fourth – the Salisbury Community Hub Youth Markets – to be held this May shining a light on young business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in our community. The markets will be held throughout the year, rotating across the Burton, Salisbury and Para Hills Community Hubs and The Mawson Centre.
Stay tuned for more announcements about upcoming markets by visiting us online at: salisbury.sa.gov.au/communitymarkets
