Are you interested in music? Always thought it would be cool to be a radio presenter? Interested in learning new skills and being on radio? Jibba Jabba Radio is a project that gives nine young people the opportunity to run their own radio show from the PBA FM community radio station in Salisbury. No experience is needed as you will gain FREE industry training to assist in presenting the Jibba Jabba Radio show from PBA FM radio station. Jibba Jabba Radio has two intakes per year in January & July. Participants will work in two teams over a 6 month period and meet each Wednesday night 4 - 7pm to research, develop and record Jibba Jabba Radio. To be involved you need to be 16 to 25 years and live, study, volunteer or work in the City of Salisbury, the City of Playford or the City of Tea Tree Gully. Jibba Jabba Radio airs every Friday from 4:35—5pm on PBA FM 89.7

The outdoor, heated swimming centre in Gawler opens October 2 with a special $1 DAY OPENING! Get cool this summer and chill out at the best outdoor heated pool around.

To celebrate the National Year of Reading, special ‘Are we there yet?’ holiday travel packs will be available for all library members. Designed for both adults and children, the travel packs will be filled with reading material and goodies to provide a bit of traveling fun to help wile away the hours. Create your very own Mexican inspired candy skull shadow box using a variety of glittery materials and air dry clay. This exciting art piece will be the talk of the town and will be displayed in the HIVE Gallery during Spanish Festival week.

Pathways to work through volunteering

Volunteering is a proven and successful way to add experience to your resume and develop your workplace skills. In a program for unemployed young people aged under 26 years, the City of Salisbury is offering a mentored volunteer opportunity with training support. Age: 17 - 25 years Date: TBA - 26 week program. This will be one morning per week (3 hour professional development workshop) and 1 day per week volunteering. Paralowie Youth Services - Case Management

A Drop In program run fortnightly at Anglicare SA Elizabeth for same sex attracted young males under the age of 25. The group is an informal Drop In for young guys to have fun. Clients are under no obligation to engage in any of the activities that are offered, they can just be in the space if they so choose. Our goals are to give young gay men a safe space to connect and hang out. We want to provide a place to build networks and friendships within the local community, and a safe place to build resilience and confidence with like-minded others. You may also learn about health and wellbeing and about issues that are directly related to you in a safe and welcoming environment.
