Game Masters Commencing Wednesday 12 May (6 weeks) 3.45pm to 5pm Ages: 8 - 13 years Making retro style video games is a great way to engage young people in coding, physics, maths, art and design. In this program we will show experienced coders how to take their games to the next level. Drawing on examples of classic games, participants will code a number of different game genres and receive tailored assistance in developing their own project. Please note: This program is only recommended for children who have completed the Game Makers course or who have experience making games with Makecode Arcade. Tech Try Tuesdays Every Tuesday (during term) 10am to 11.30am Tech Try Tuesdays is a series of talks and workshops aimed at exploring existing and emerging technologies. Some weeks we will focus on how to make the most of everyday tech, and then in others we will explore what is new and exciting. Bookings essential. ADULT EDUCATION English as a Second Language Class English Skills, Work Health and Safety Commencing Wednesday 28 April (10 weeks) 1pm to 2.30pm This program will provide practical skills and knowledge of current WHS signs, symbols and processes. Perfect for those who have low literacy skills and are currently looking for work. Commitment to the entire 10 week program and LLN testing prior to commencing is essential. Salisbury Community Hub Term 2 Apr | May | Jun 2021 Recorded Story Telling The Power of Audio Commencing Friday 7 May (4 weeks) 10am to 12pm Have you ever thought about the power of recorded audio and stories? In 4 weeks, you will learn the basics of audio recording and production including tips for using your phone to record audio, how to edit your recordings, how to capture stories through interviews and how to publish and share your creations. EVENTS Salisbury's Nuclear Cold War History Festival event Wednesday 5 May 10.30am to 11.30am As part of History Festival, Jeff Pinney from the National Military Vehicles Museum will be giving a talk featuring Salisbury’s nuclear history, highlighting Salisbury’s involvement in the selection of nuclear bomb detonation sites, detonation of bombs and all the information and logistics associated with it.
