ADULT EDUCATION Ready for Work programs English as a Second Language Wednesdays, commencing 3 February (10 weeks), 1pm to 2.30pm A 10 week program to provide practical skills and knowledge of current WHS signs, symbols and processes. Perfect for those who have low literacy skills and are currently looking for work. Commitment to the entire 10 week program is essential. Pathway to Work and Study Thursdays, commencing 4 February (10 weeks), 9.30am to 1.30pm This program will help participants prepare for work or study in the modern work environment by looking at effective communication techniques, customer service, conflict resolution, goal setting, transferrable skills and current WHS requirements. Participants will have the opportunity to look at resumes and cover letters in readiness for applying for work. Funded by the Department of Innovation and Skills. Commitment to the entire 10 week program is essential. Eligibility criteria apply. Intoduction to Visual Communications and Graphic Design Mondays, commencing 1 February (5 weeks) 9.30am to 1.30pm (some out of class tasks will be required) This course provides participants with practical experience in the production of
digital and print communication materials. It aims to provide participants with a career pathway into the service, creative industries, business, digital, communications and/or education sectors. FAMILY HISTORY RESOURCES Find My Past Find My Past is a UK based online genealogy service. Two subscriptions to this database are available for use within the Salisbury West Library and the Salisbury Community Hub only. These can only be accessed via the library PCs. Access to this database is FREE. Ancestry, Library Edition Ancestry Library Edition provides access to an extensive range of genealogical resources from the United States and United Kingdom, including census, vital, church, court, and immigration records.
