In partnership with the City of Santee, the Cameron Family YMCA operates an aquatics center that’s open to the general public as well as YMCA members. The center features a 25 meter-by-25-yard swimming pool, an activity pool with play structure, and water exercise area and locker rooms. Group, private swim lessons and swim team are offered year round.

Santee Resident Participants – $4.00*

Non–Santee Resident Participants – $8.00*

Active older adults meet to get involved, stay connected and be active. Pre-registration is not required. Enjoy the company of others, make new friends and take advantage of the activities during the week.

Out & About

A day-tripper’s delight, this program is for adventurous older adults who like to explore local and regional destinations within San Diego County. Participants generally take the trolley as a group to any destinations out of the East County area. For our trips occurring within East County, the group will meet at the destination, and carpooling is encouraged. Pre-registration is required. To preregister you can sign up at Senior Group or call (619) 258-4100 ext. 222.

Queen Mary Tour + Long Beach Harbor Cruise

Delve into the Queen Mary's expansive past, including her groundbreaking construction, her time as a troopship during WWII and of course, her glory days as the world's most luxurious and technologically advanced ocean liner. After enjoy a 45-minute fully narrated tour of the scenic Long Beach harbor. Learn history about the harbor, see the beautiful Long Beach skyline, California Sea Lions playing in the harbor, the world-famous Queen Mary, large cargo and container ships from all over the world and much more! There will be a fair amount of walking, so please wear comfortable shoes.

Fee: $60 Santee Resident, $75 Non-Resident

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, September 27 Space is limited.

Financial aid is available for Santee residents to participate in recreation programs and trips. Submit your VIP application to find out if you are eligible for a $55 credit. Participants may apply for financial assistance once every quarter. Credit may be applied to any senior activity requiring a fee to participate.
