Statement of Activities 2

Such Annual Comprehensive Financial Report must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements. A Certificate of Achievement is valid for a period of one year only. The City of Southlake received a Certificate of Achievement for the year ended September 30, 2020, and believes our current report conforms to the Certificate of Achievement program requirements, and we are submitting it to GFOA.

In addition, the City also received the GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation award for its annual budget dated October 1, 2020. In order to qualify for this award, the City’s budget document was judged to be proficient in all categories, including as a policy document, a financial plan, and operations guide, and a communications device.

Acknowledgments The preparation of this report could not be accomplished without the dedication and efficiency of the entire staff and our independent auditor. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all employees who contributed to its preparation. I would also like to thank the Mayor and members of the City Council for their support in planning and conducting the financial operations of the City in a responsible and efficient manner.

Respectfully submitted,

Sharen Jackson, CPA Chief Financial Officer
