Puppy 1: Puppy Kindergarten This is a 6-week positive reinforcement course for your puppy between the ages of 8 weeks - 16 weeks old when starting class. Classes last for 55 minutes. Puppy 2: AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. In class you’ll be taught how to best communicate with your puppy and also provide an opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs. In class you’ll be able to get information on all of your puppy-raising questions including house training, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills such as coming when called. Beginning Family Dog Training: AKC Canine Good Citizen This is a 6-week positive reinforcement course for your dog the age of at least 6 months old. No experience is necessary to join this class where you will learn how to motivate your dog while teaching them basic skills. Canine Good Citizen is a certification program developed by the AKC that is designed to reward the owners of dogs who are well mannered both at home and in the community. You will be prepared for the 10 test items you and your dog must pass to get your AKC CGC certificate. Skills that will be taught include sit and sit-stay, down and down-stay, stand, coming when called, drop, loose leash walking, plus many others.
