Stoughton Utilities Donated $3,540 In 2009 In a look back at contributions and donations made last year, Stoughton Utilities is pleased to report that, with support from power supplier WPPI Energy, it provided financial support totaling $3,540 for community causes in 2009.

Since the inception of the community contributions program in 1998, community contributions by WPPI Energy’s member utilities totals more than one million dollars, with more than $248,000 contributed in 2009.

“Stoughton Utilities is pleased to be able to contribute to worthy local causes through our community contributions program,” said Robert Kardasz, Utilities Director. “Our membership in WPPI Energy brings several benefits to local residents and businesses, making Stoughton a great place in which to live and work.”

Stoughton Utilities’ 2009 community contributions included:

A $500 Public Power Scholarship to local Stoughton High School student Lisamarie Salvitti. Ms. Salvitti is attending Viterbo University in LaCrosse.


A $500 Public Power Scholarship to local Stoughton High School student Hallie LeMoine. Ms. LeMoine is attending the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.

A $250 donation to the Stoughton Fair Association.

A $290 donation to the Stoughton Senior Expo.

A $1,000 donation to the Stoughton Area EMS for a carbon monoxide detector.

A $1,000 donation to the City of Stoughton economic development efforts.

Stoughton Utilities’ community contributions fund was established to promote awareness of Stoughton’s community-owned utility. Stoughton Utilities is a member of WPPI Energy, a regional power company serving 51 customer-owned electric utilities. ### Stoughton Utilities is a community-owned utility supplying power to8,400 homes and businesses in Stoughton and five surrounding Townships.
