Kid Zone Before and After School Program is available at our Joint Use Facilities. Rec’ N Crew After School Program is only available at Kings Fork Recreation Center. Our staff is ready to provide a caring, enriching and safe environment for your child. Limited spaces are available. Registration opens for the 2023-2024 school year on July 1, 2023.

The following items are needed for registration in either program: Proof of child’s grade, completed registration form, proof of residency, and two emergency contacts. We accept cards, check, or money order (no cash).

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR PARKS & RECREATION PROGRAMS

• Course Enrollment - Each class has a minimum and maximum enrollment. Classes will be canceled a week prior to the start date if minimum enrollment is not met.

• Age Requirements - Age requirements have been established to safely facilitate age appropriate classes. Participants must be of the appropriate age by the first day of class in order to register. No exceptions.

• Corrections & Updates - There are times when errors or revisions in dates, times, fees, or instructors do occur. We recommend that you check the City’s website for up-to-date information. We appreciate your patience and understanding when these situations occur.

• Photo Policy - Please be advised that all participants involved in any department program or special event are subject to being photographed. Such photographs may be used by the City of Suffolk without an obligation to provide compensation to those photographed.

Discover Your Future

Program Dates: Mondays - Fridays, June 26 - August 18

Time: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Membership required to stay beyond 3:00 PM Cost: $85 per two-week session + $35 one-time registration fee Grade Levels: 7th - 10th Grade

Locations: ESRC or BCRC

Teens will enjoy clubs, games, sports, crafts, and field trips. Camp includes breakfast, lunch (ESRC site only), and a t-shirt.

Tennis Summer Camps

Dates: Mondays - Thursdays, June 26 - 29; July 24 - 27 Location: Lake Meade Park

Challengers

Times: 8:00 - 11:00 AM Cost: $120 per session Ages: 7 - 11

Designed to develop skills of the sport through drills, games and match play. Snacks and water provided.

Jr. Varsity/High School

Times: 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM Cost: $125 per session

Ages: 11 - 18

Designed to develop skills in stroke development, strategy, movement and match play. Snacks and water provided.

Kulinary Kids

Dates: August 21-25 Time: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM Cost: $90 per participant Ages: 8-12 Location: Planter’s Club

Kids will learn basic cooking skills, kitchen safety, dining etiquette and more! Each day we will focus on a different lesson and menu, and kids will dine on their own culinary creation.

Planet Recreation

Program

Dates: Mondays - Fridays, June 26 - August 18

Time: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM Cost: $85 per two-week session + $35 one-time registration fee Grades: PreK4 - Rising 5th Grade Location: BTWRC, MBRC, ORC and CMRC. (Note: Creekside and Northern Shores have reached capacity.) This program is filled with fun activities, arts and crafts, clubs and exciting field trips. (Four and five-year-olds must have proof of attending a 4-year-old program or kindergarten through Suffolk Public Schools.)

Hoops For Life

Dates: Mondays - Fridays, June 26 - July 7 (ages 12 - 15); July 10 - 21 (ages 12 - 15); July 24 - August 4 (ages 811); August 7 - 18 (ages 8 - 11) Time: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Cost: $70 per two-week session + $25 one-time registration fee Location: KFRC

This program will teach and improve fundamental basketball skills while addressing important life values like: discipline, teamwork, goal setting, and sportsmanship. There will be a guest speaker, video lessons, and workshops.
