A vibrant Aloha in the display window of Moments Shared Children's Consignment welcomes you into a treasure trove of gently used children's clothing.

Located at 320 Georgia street, in a historic building that was home to Simon's Jewelry for nearly sixty years. Simona Dobson, the owner, and Vallejo native, opened Moments Shared in 2017 and turned a former insurance company into a welcoming space in downtown Vallejo.

After becoming a new mother and shopping at consignment stores in other cities, Simona saw an opportunity to bring a much-needed service to Vallejo. So she opened Moments Shared as a way for the community to share in the experience of parenthood. Encouraged by the 'shop local' adage she'd seen in community Facebook groups, Simona took the leap from corporate accounting to small business owner.

With about 1,000 families donating clothes, shoes, and toys; Simona is diligent about the items she selects for the store.

"I make sure every piece is in great shape—no stains or holes. Only the best will make it to the shelves," according to Simona.

From newborn to size 14, clothing items range in price from $1.99-$6.99. But, it isn't just clothing and shoes; shoppers will find like-new strollers, swings, and other baby gear at nearly 90% off retail pricing. Moments Shared also carries new and used toys. Simona encourages parents to bring their children into the store to see where the clothes and toys they've outgrown can find a new home.

"Kids call me the toy store, and I love it!"

Moments Shared isn't just a place to shop; the store is also a great place for a family outing.

"We have a bingo card during the farmers market. Kids win a small prize for completing it, and we have a bubble station outside. This is a place for families to have fun.»

The store survived the pandemic by pivoting to online sales. After a year and a half, Simona is happy to be back in the store seven days a pm, with plans to expand 2-am 10 week from the store›s hours in August, just in time for back to school. In addition, the store runs specials bag sale 5.00$ throughout the year, like the that always sells out quickly, and they also run .seasonal social media promotions

Vallejo is lucky to have Moments Shared as an affordable option for parents and caregivers. The store also carries books, educational and developmental toys, and elementary school uniforms. Consignment drop-offs are accepted Tuesdaypm. All items are inspected 2-am 10 Friday from immediately at drop-off, and consignees can choose cash payment or store credit for .accepted items
