SKATE TO APPRECIATE EVENT

On May 27, 2023, two local youth outreach groups, First Chance Vallejo and Angels with Heart, organized a special event called Skate to Appreciate at Washington Park in Vallejo.

Skate to Appreciate recognized four Vallejo Police Department officers and five Vallejo School District educators and awarded them with plaques for their appreciation for being public servants. The youth in both organizations voted for the selected award winners.

The selected officers were:

• Sergeant Rashad Hollis

• Officer Stephanie Diaz

• Officer Vishvdeep Giri

• Officer Nicholas Petrie

The selected educators were:

• Daniel Martinez (Jesse Bethel High School)

• Jessica Wattles (Elite Public School)

• Jeremy Cooper (Solano Widenmann Leadership Academy)

• Diana Iriarte (Cooper Elementary)

• Deloris Doster (Vallejo City Unified School District)
