Volunteers Team Up to Make a Lasting Impact

This past April, Westerville’s thriving volunteer community was especially active for National Volunteer Month. The City provided ample volunteer opportunities to promote the benefits of volunteerism for givers and receivers and to encourage all community members to take part in volunteerism whenever possible.

Members of several organizations and businesses, including but not limited to, Friends of Alum Creek and Tributaries, Chase Bank, Aqua Ohio, DHL, Mid-City Electric and TaTa Consultancy, teamed up to plant trees throughout the City, as part of Green Columbus’ Earth Month Campaign to plant 74,000 trees throughout the region. Projects included tree planting on Cooper Road along Alum Creek bikeway, mulching at the Community Center, removing invasive plants at Metzger Park and road cleanup.

The following images highlight just a portion of the volunteer activities that took place throughout April.
