Before a new building in the City can be occupied or used, or before a new business can occupy or use an existing building, a Zoning Certificate verifying compliance with the development standards and use requirements of the Planning & Zoning Code must be issued. In most cases, the zoning review can be done in conjunction with a Building Permit or Change of Occupancy Permit.
