Capace honored for involvement, success in community
BOB CAPACE, owner of Worthington Jewelers, is the Businessperson of the Year. Selected by a committee of previous award recipients, Bob was honored for his of involvement within Worthington and his business success through the years.
In August 2000, Bob opened Worthington Jewelers in a historic building at 692 High St. Over the past 22 years, the store has served over 20,000 happy customers. Over 1,000 have left 5-star online reviews. In 2011, the store remodeled and added a 1,500-square-foot, Craftsman style addition. The next year, jewelry trade publication Instore Magazine named Worthington Jewelers one of America’s “Coolest Stores.”
Since then, Worthington Jewelers has won a series of awards, including The Knot Best of Weddings every year since 2014. It was named the Best Place to Buy Jewelry in Columbus by readers of Columbus Monthly magazine and voted a #1 CBUS Top Pick for Best Jewelry Store for five years in a row.
Bob and his wife, Theresa, who serves as Store Manager for Worthington Jewelers, fell in love with the community. Engaged in the community, Bob and Theresa support area schools, arts organizations and other community groups, including Worthington Schools, Worthington A.M. Rotary, the Worthington Chamber of Commerce, St. Michael’s Church, Worthington Partnership, Nationwide Children’s Hospital Kinder Key, Worthington Resource Pantry, Mount Carmel Health and others.
