What do I need to do during my first two weeks at City? • Register in person to confirm

your enrolment at City. Register in the Rhind Building as per your course induction timetable during Welcome Week. Visit the webpage for further information: studenthub.city.ac.uk/ new-students

• Collect your student ID card after

registration. Remember to note down your student number and carry it with you when on campus

• Go on a campus tour led by one of City’s Student Ambassadors: this will help you find your way around before lectures start

• Access your City email address. Be sure to check it daily for messages and updates– this is the primary way that the University will communicate with you

• Find your induction timetable on the Student Hub studenthub.city.ac.uk/ new-students

• Buy a planner to help you to keep track of your lectures, tutorials, events and personal meetings

• Open a student bank account

you will need a letter confirming your student status which you can print out yourself from e:vision via the Current Students section of the City website, or from the Student Centre or your School office. Take advantage of our onsite bank, Santander, to open your account

• Register with a doctor and

dentist. It’s best to do this while you are feeling well, before you need one. Find out more about student health in the Welcome Week Guide

• If you are a full-time student

and living in privately owned accommodation, print out a Council Tax Exemption letter from e:vision. If you are living within the London Borough of Camden you can register for council tax exemption online at www.city.ac.uk/council-tax

• If you are planning to cycle

to University, bike parking is available at the Drysdale Garden. Visit www.city.ac.uk/travel to find out more.

• Once you have your reading list start buying your books. Search online for the best prices but always remember to buy the edition suggested by your lecturer • Get assistance from a CityBuddy at www.city.ac.uk/buddy

• Attend at least some of the social events organised for you during Welcome Week so you can start to make friends at City
