Fashion may change but hairdressing and beauty is always the leader . As an industry generating more than £7 billion a year a career in hairdressing and beauty has lots of opportunities. Working within this industry doesn’t have to be in a traditional salon you could be working in hotels, spas, health clubs, prisons hospitals, even on cruise ships, film sets, the armed forces’ bases, or be self-employed.

We have industry-standard, commercial hair and beauty salons on campus, where you will gain all the professional skills, knowledge and competencies you will need for a successful career. You have real clients from the general public to work on and plenty of opportunities to hear direct from those working in the industry right now. You will also be able to undertake work experience at leading high street salons who we work closely with. Represent the college in local commercial activities and take part in national competitions

Through your course you will learn about the hair and skin, including body care; hair colouring, cutting, styling, relaxing, face and body treatments, manicures, pedicures, make-up, facials, aromatherapy, specialist electrical face and body treatments and provide clients with these various treatments.

What’s Next?

Upon successful completion of your course, you will have the opportunity to progress to the next level or enter into a variety of jobs including junior hair stylist, hair technician, make-up artist, hairdresser and even starting your own business.
