ENGINEERING

Engineering is a dynamic and creative career with a wide range of roles and disciplines. It involves the application of mathematical methods and scientific principles to turn ideas and materials into products and systems.

Our full-time Level 3 programme focuses on the specialist areas of electrical/electronic engineering and mechanical engineering with a choice of pathway in year 2. You’ll be taught by specialist lecturers in either electrical/electronic engineering or mechanical engineering. Learning takes place in dedicated engineering and computer labs.

Students in full-time study programme take part in work experience in each academic year with engineering and construction businesses. In addition to the vocational and employability opportunities on offer, students are able to develop their English and mathematics skills to match the requirements needed by industry and higher education.

We also offer a part-time twoyear national diploma course for employed students and apprentices wanting to progress in their careers.

Upon successful completion of you course, you can progress directly to an apprenticeship or employment as an engineering technician or go into higher education to study for an engineering degree. Future job opportunities include Aerospace/ Avionics Engineer, Automotive Engineer, CAD Technician, Electrical/ Electronic Engineer, Engineering Technician, Mechanical Engineer, Motor Sport Engineer, Product Designer, Production Engineer and Signal Engineer and more.

If you want a career in the motor vehicle maintenance and repair industry, our series of one year courses are approved by the City & Guilds (C&G) and are designed to meet the needs of the sector.

Learn from lecturers with industry experience. Students have access to an industry standard stateof-the-art fully equipped motor vehicle workshop for practical hands-on learning. In addition to the vocational course, students are able to develop essential English and mathematics skills to meet the standards that industry demands.
