GIVING BACK

Proceeds from the Fashion Food and Wine Festival benefits the Dig 4 Kids Education Foundation. Founded in 2000 by Professional Beach Volleyball Player and Olympic Gold Medalist Eric Fonoimoana, Dig 4 Kids encourages the pursuit of higher education and academic achievement and provides youth with increased opportunities to participate in-group athletics. Dig 4 Kids was established after Eric noticed the lack of youth education and exercise programs in underserved communities. He felt a strong desire to “equalize” these circumstances in these areas. With the success of the foundations first pilot program conducted in Carson, California and Eric’s success in winning THE GOLD, the dream of Dig 4 Kids has become a reality and the organization has gained both national and international sponsorship and recognition for its efforts. Dig 4 Kids has helped over 2,810 children learn the importance of education and physical fitness. “Digging Education” is the primary activity of D4K and is an innovative project that combines after-school academic tutoring and mentoring with exercise and volleyball lessons. Students receive assistance with their homework, life-lessons, counseling and then participate in volleyball instruction and training. The program responds to a need for positive after-school activity and takes place from 3pm to 6pm, when many kids are unsupervised and prone to involvement in dangerous or illegal activity. Thank You For Your Support, Eric Fonoimoana

The Trade Coach Philosophy is simple, and applied simply and easily for all levels of investors and traders. It rests upon a solid, time-tested foundation of fundamental concepts and rules that have served professional traders and investors successfully for decades. These fundamental practices are based on the basic foundation set forth by one of the world’s most successful investors of all time… Warren Buffet. He advocates just two simple and most basic rules for investors of all types… 1. Don’t Lose Money 2. Never Forget Rule #1 Now, that is of course a very simplistic approach to what is admittedly a very complicated business. However, it would most likely be an exercise in futility to identify any successful long-term traders or investors who would argue that the most important element of this business does not include, first and foremost, adherence to those very basic concepts. Professionals ALWAYS focus first on how best to manage risk, preserve capital and limit losses, and NOT on profit. Or more simply, how to NOT lose money. Profit is simply the result of how well a trader or investor learns to employ those simple concepts strictly and consistently. Managing risk efficiently is always the primary consideration of successful traders and investors.

The Trade Coach trading and investment philosophy centers and rests upon these basic principles and is the paramount goal of our educational service. So that’s what we do! Teach you first how to NOT lose money. Once you learn that most important skill, and how to apply it efficiently, your performance will consistently improve. Unlike other online investment education services, which are often designed to draw subscribers into an endless stream of marketing pitches, spam, alternative strategy products, newsletters and advisories… and often accompanied by ridiculous claims of success… The Trade Coach services are straight-forward, unbiased and based solely on our paramount goal of educating traders and investors on the fundamental methods, techniques and strategies that professional traders and investors have used successfully for decades to navigate this complex and difficult business. There are NO Secret Systems, NO Special Software that does the work for you, and there are NO 90% Success Rate Strategies. Regardless of how any of these systems and/or strategies are presented, or how convincing they may seem, they simply do NOT exist. of the most popular boutiques in the country. Lost Bird is continuously evolving and growing but it will always remain colorful and delicate.

Lost Bird Designs is the outcome of my passion to create with my own hands. As a kid I was making jewelry at the age of 9 and selling it to the ladies who worked in the school cafeteria. I never considered that one day I would take my hobby and make it my life, but that is what I am doing. Now, years later I am working on a new line and having a great time selling to some

My favorite materials are a mix of old world stones and beads with precious stones and 14K gold. I am in love with the African trade beads and ancient turquoise, you will find much of this in my work. Naida Begeta, the creative force behind Kao Pao Shu, has had a life that could be described a lot like her art: diverse, creative and inspiring. Bornin Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, she was only twelve when war broke out in her country. After three years, she had the opportunity to cometo the US and enroll at Olympia High School in Washington as part of the Fellowship of Reconciliation project. After graduating, she returned to her homeland and took her first steps in her fashion career. She attended the University of Sarajevo’s Academy of Fine Arts specializing in product design. While working towards her degree, Naida actively participated in many other avenues of the arts including collaborating the Sarajevo Film Festival and becoming assistant curator for the Sara- jevo Center for Contemporary Arts (SCCA), which focuses on showcasing local artists as well as foreign projects in Sarajevo.

It was during this period of artistic saturation that Naida started making handbags. She hadn’t

been able to find any handbags in Sarajevo that suited her so she set ouon designing her own. Before long, friends and family were putting in orders for Naida’s unusual and alluring pieces. These pieces would become the foundation for herSTRIPE UP YOURSELF collection. Naida graduated at the top of her 2004 Academy of FineArts’ class and began to establish herself as a designer while migrating to and from Milan and Sarajevo. Kao Pao Shu brand became a part of the ever-flourishing fashion scene in Milan as well as in Japan, carried by the department store Dice & Dice.

A stunning new-look, Memphis At The Beach Café and Bar encompasses a fresh social dining experience for everyone The totally

Distinctly gourmet Southern food, Memphis’ menus showcase fresh produce and premium seafood and meats selected exclusively for the restaurant, appeal to beach-going, and health loving Manhattan Beach goers. Memphis combines authentic Southern cuisine and contemporary classics. Breakfasts are delectable offering crawfish omelets, southern eggs Benedict, pancakes and French toast. Some menu items provide full Southern comfort while others are more health conscious with a little “comfort” on the side and the children’s menu features loads of good food such as healthy grilled chicken, steamed vegetables and fresh fruit parfaits.

A new face is in the lineup at the Hermosa Pier. Watermans opened its doors recently, slaying the ghost of the much maligned, troubled nightspot Dragon. Positivity flows with a “Safe House for Surfers” theme, pure California beach at its best. A wind free patio and fresh healthy fare lead the way with Waterman’s charging into the lunchtime and dinner trade. The menu is solid, featuring lighter options, and a variety of choices for vegetarians - which are quite limited on the pier. The flavors and menu skew surf style. Menu items tote both surf titles such as “The Banzai Pipeline” burger, to the actual cuisine itself, with a fusion of island and California flavors. Sandwiches are

paired with a spring salad side rather than the typical French fries. Ahi shows up in several places ranging from salads, to seared on a sandwich with a crisp arugula and cool cucumber chilling down the Serrano chili kiss. The burgers include a veggie burger offering in addition to chicken and tuna. The colorful hummus plate is a must have with grilled pita showing a new attention to detail, and the hummus itself adorned with feta crown. Most notable is the crowd, which includes local families, and area lunchtime business people in addition to tourists enjoying Spring Break. The atmosphere is comfortable, casual,

Lido di Manhattan Ristorante and Bar, located in Manhattan Marketplace by Bristol Farms, has long been one of the South Bay’s best kept secrets. Fueled by an energetic staff, the lively restaurant is constantly buzzing with special events, happy hours, live music, and wine tastings. The food is as diverse and creative as the environment with options ranging from Ahi Towers and Lobster Wonton Tacos to traditional Italian dishes, large salads, and juicy steaks. These delicious selections are accompanied by an extensive list of top quality wines, and all of Lido’s breads, pastas, and dressings are

homemade from scratch. The restaurant’s stylish atmosphere of traditional elegance combined with a contemporary flair makes the lounge area and bar an inviting space for social activity and happy hour cocktails, while the spacious booths and colorful artwork create an interior palette of comfort and class. Additionally, there is a large outdoor patio adorned with white lights and tiki torches which seats up to 55 people at the rear of the restaurant that can be rented or used for special events and occasions.

For more than thirty-eight years, Tom Halby has sold wines from many California great estates, but never before has he put his name on a label. For this inaugural vintage, Tom has personally selected premium Napa Valley wines that he is proud to call his own. From the elegant packaging, to the rich tasting wines inside, the quality is evident throughout. Whether you choose Chardonnay, Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon, the wines of Thomas Halby Winery are among Napa Valleys best values.

in this unique microclimate, where cool evening breezes temper warm, sunny days. Yes, Malibu. The grapes for our wines are grown not on the famous beach, playground to the stars and surfers’ Mecca, but in a scenic valley four miles inland and 1400 feet above the coastal fog. In 1987 Los Angeles businessman George Rosenthal began planting vineyards at his 250 acre Malibu retreat, but only after he spent two years carefully checking soil composition, drainage, and weather conditions to make sure he planted the correct varietals in the most ideal locations on his property. The work proved worthwhile and Malibu Newton Canyon is now recognized as its own distinct AVA (American Viticultural Area) or appellation. Thirty-two acres of hillside vines are now planted

It’s an intense undertaking that requires a labor of love. The slopes are steep and everything from canopy management to harvest has to be attended to by hand. The wines are then aged in French oak barrels under the watchful eye of winemaker Christian Roguenant who strives to bring out their unique character. The reds are vinified with limited intervention to highlight terroir and the Chardonnay is made in a Burgundian style yielding a lightly oaked, crisp wine that complements a wide array of foods. We invite you to enjoy a bottle at your table and taste the flavors of Malibu for yourself.

LIVE ART SHOW

Artist Andy Brown will be painting a canvass live from 6pm - 7:30pm. Guest can place bids on the painting during this time. The money raised from this silent art auction goes directly to the Dig 4 Kids Education Foundation.

“I have always drawn because I enjoy the process, luckily for me some of the times the outcome can be appreciated by others. To share this enjoyment I started a tee shirt company called soldierleisure, of which is mostly my smaller work” - Andy Brown As of late Andy has taken his appreciation for drawing to utilize aerosol paint - his recent body of work is working with aerosol to depict human expression in a street art style that creates curiousity or perhaps a

positive emotion in the viewer. He has spent time traveling locally and internationally for the past 6 years and a lot of the inspiration comes from meeting and talking with different people, ultimately getting down to what makes people happy, and remembering those conversations and bringing that vibe to a wall or a canvas to share.
