Black America: Why The Outrage? A Facebook-TV Channel Series

BLACK AMERICA: WHY THE OUTRAGE? A 12 episode, street level view, of Black America articulating and deconstructing the outrage driving the current Black Lives Matter Movement. Each 20 minute episode will feature a compelling narrative of an African-American whose story chronicles the experiences of thousands of others similarly situated. This series is created for exclusive broadcasting and distribution free of charge on social media.
About Black America: Why The Outrage? This series is a street level look at issues, events, policies and practices that have adversely impacted the day-to-day lives of African-Americans. The series explore the social and political factors that continue to drive the growth of the Black Lives Matter Movement. Black America: Why The Outrage, a Facebook-TV channel, will broadcast a 12 episode mini-series of first person accounts addressing the question of why African-Americans are outraged. Each commercially sponsored episode will be 20 minutes without interruption. This documentary series will begin in Buffalo, New York and take us to nearly a dozen cities across the country. Distribution of this break-through social media based television series will premiere on Facebook during Fall 2016. Two episodes will be released weekly. Series will be initially posted to 15.5 million Facebook users and their friends---with the projected 12 episodes of the series achieving upwards of 150 millions views. Distribution of the series will be mirrored on Twitter and You-Tube with an estimated 500,000 - 1 million additional views.

Social media technology now allows for storytelling and promoting narratives to communities and people across the globe, without the need for a major television network or communications channel. Taking full advantage of this new technology, "Black America: Why The Outrage" will chronicle stories from around the country that explains "why" the Black Lives Matter Movement has garnered national support and "why"African-Americans are justifiably outraged. The series will look at historic factors as well as contemporary events.
