Helping Holocaust Services Help Survivors The transition of the administration of Holocaust Community Services (HCS) from JCFS to CJE SeniorLife early in 2015 required clerical assistance from volunteers. Filing, scanning and inputting data, volunteers donated over 150 hours allowing HCS staff to focus on reaching out to nearly 800 Holocaust survivors and their families by offering support groups, socialization programs and assistance with various Holocaust reparations and compensation programs. As part of the effort to seek new opportunities to serve more survivors and their families, Holocaust Community Services will be expanding their volunteer services by providing survivors with in–home “Friendly Visitor” volunteers.

It can be overwhelming to navigate the myriad of senior care services.

The Entry Department is the gateway to assist in identifying older adult needs and making appropriate referrals. A phone call to 773.508.1000 connects you to one of our credentialed Resource Specialists. Each has in-depth knowledge of CJE programs, facilities, and services, as well as community services and resources, both government funded and private.

While most calls are related to services for older adults, the Entry Team also fields calls on a variety of topics including, “Does CJE provide

matchmaking services?” For the answer to this and other questions, call the Entry Department Monday through Friday 9:00am-4:30pm.
