OVERVIEW

Diana’s Rhythmic Gymnastics combines ballet and creative movements to music, while working with ribbons, balls, hoops, ropes, and clubs. Our classes are designed to develop grace in movement, muscular strength/flexibility and build self-confidence. We are committed to providing a safe, fun and positive learning environment for the students.

NEEDS

Originally named Starlite Gymnastics Academy for six years, we’ve now changed the name to Diana’s Rhythmic Gymnastics and continue to teach rhythmic gymnastics with the same dedication.

Owner Perception: The owner is asking to keep the silhouette of a gymnast in the logo to show flexibility and grace.

Design Needs & Objectives

A full identity modification was to be created to solve the problems of the old logo and design. 15 original logo sketches were created, which were then digitally designed in black and white. The client selected her 5 favorites, which were to be recreated in color. Light and dark pink were chosen for the colors, this was an easy decision for these colors represented the company well and had a beautiful harmony together. Chennai Light, Mr. Leopolde, and Helvetica Narrow Regular were the fonts used.

Since the name of the company was the owners name it made sense that the company’s name be in cursive. Also the cursive font portrayed elegance, rhythm, and movement, which are key factors in this sport. This font opened up the possibility to combine the gymnast’s silhouette and the capital “D” in the logo. Diana (the owner) specifically asked to have a silhouette of a rhythmic gymnast in the logo. So a new and improved was drawn up that was more energetic and had better color chemistry.

REPRESENTATION

Logo Representation: The new and improved combination mark logo truly expresses the spirit of the group, it is sophisticated, creative, lively, dynamic, feminine, balanced, flexible, coordination, and strength. Supporting Elements

You should not change the colors, font, and proportion of the design. You should always leave at least 1 inch of empty space around the logo. On dark backgrounds, reversed-out white should be used for logo color.

The final choices for the colors are dark pink solid coated PANTONE 695 C and light pink solid coated PANTONE 203 C. These colors have beautiful harmony together.

This is our old website which does not exist anymore: starlitegymnasticsacademy.com Here is our new and updated website, it has a lot of white space to represent the light atmosphere we want. We used the same colors as in the logo, and nothing else. The website gives directions, information on the coaches, photo galleries, events, schedules, and a blog. EXAMPLES

Usage: The main uses for the new logo will be vehicle advertisement, business cards, stationary’s, competition display, apparel design, and web design. The logo must be presentable both in small and large sizes.

We have two vehicles with the logo design, phone number, and website displayed on the sides. Also during events and promotions we will give away free calendars, cups, and pens with the companies logo, phone number, and website on it.
