Seoul

For a sense of history, visit Gyeongbokgung Palace or the "Palace Greatly Blessed by Heaven�, Seoul's oldest and largest. A ticket grants you access to the city's finest architectural splendours, ornamental gardens, the National Palace Museum of Korea and the National Folk Museum of Korea. With more than 4,000 artefacts on display, one could easily get lost perusing treasures of the country's fascinating history.
Myeongdong is modern Seoul's epicentre. Value for money can be found at every turn in this treasure trove of clothes, cosmetics and accessories. For something a touch more refined, browse Apgujeong-ro Street in the Cheongdam-dong area of Gangnam, the hub of haute couture. Around the corner are the K-pop management companies’ headquarters, which made the district synonymous with all things high-end.

Korea's first official traditional market, Gwangjang, is a veritable haven for food lovers. The speciality here is bindaetteok, golden fried mung bean pancake but kimchi, bulgugi, bibimbap and all the greats of Korean cuisine are gathered here under one roof. For sumptuous ribs grilled to perfection, seek out Korea's famous BBQ or galbi restaurants, the best of which are in Nonhyun-dong district. When the sun sets, the best place to see Seoul's awe-inspiring cityscape is from a hangang ferry. Taking you through the very heart of the city,
the sight of 24-karat-gold-coated 63 Building in all its glory, and the falling and dancing water, lights and music of the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain show on Banpo Bridge make for an unforgettable experience. Some consider Seoul's nightlife as the best in the world and owing largely to the dazzling array of nightspots catering to all tastes. Head to Sinsa area for some of the most vibrant and exclusive clubs where you can rub shoulders with Korea's socialites and celebrities until sunrise. With all these to offer, it comes as no surprise why travellers are flocking to this spectacular destination.
