Konstantin Grcic Konstantin Grcic is a German industrial designer of Serbian origin. He is one of the most influential designers of this time (2015). His chair ‘Chaire One’ and the lamp ‘May Day’ are already design classics that are in museum possession.

Konstantin Grcic defines function in human terms, combining formal strictness with considerable mental acuity and humour. Each of his products is characterized by a careful research into the history of design and architecture and his passion for technology and materials. Known for pared-down pieces, Grcic is often called a minimalist but the designer himself prefers to speak of simplicity.

DesignNest - Allocacoc The company allocacoc arose from the design of the PowerCube. There is now a wide range of Cubes for sale worldwide. However, the first PowerCube was a more innovative and user-friendly interpretation of a standard junction box. A product that has existed for a long time, but has always been designed in the same stereotypical way. The products of allocacoc are given the label “a different standard. If you make an existing or new need better in a user-friendly, aesthetic or innovative way, people will want to buy it. The DesignNest platform is always looking for products that answer to a certain need or function in the same surprising, inventive and convenient way. At home or at the office, for the grandmother or the athlete, ...

To begin with, I went to take a look online, so I could see what allready existed within this product category. Then I started sketching, eventually I chose 1 cup, in 3 sizes, with 3 different caps, one for each age. I chose to use both Illustrator and Sketchbook to convert my sketch to a line drawing. Then I imported it into Photoshop. As colors, I chose orange, light and dark blue. After the sippycups where colored, I added shadow and texture. To finish all this, I also drew a hand and putted everything together on one presentation panel.
