LARGS NORTH RESIDENCE rear gardens Site: Largs North SA Media: hand drawing, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Rhino Format: Concept Design Project Description: Multi-generational family looking to re-energise their rear garden areas to include smaller garden spaces for different activities and uses, such as vegetable garden and fruit trees, a quiet space, and space for sitting and talking.

Garden beds at the front of the house planted with bulbs for all year colour Camelias transplanted around the base of the Pine in a mulched garden bed Alternative lawn options - Dichondra repens and Bacopa monnieri in areas of of shade or partial sun Raise canopy of the existing tree, clear out unwanted branches

BALHANNAH RESIDENCE front garden + driveway Site: Balhannah SA Media: hand drawing, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Rhino Format: Concept Design + Planting Plan Project Description: Previous owners ran a nursery in the front garden, evidence pops up all around, the young couple would like a low maintenance and inviting space that produces colour all year round. The planting plan provided seasonal colour throughout the year through the use of bulbs, shrubs and trees. 9

The centre has four key areas; Baby area, Toddler area, Kindy area and Kitchen garden, all of which had different requirements. The overall focus was on nature play and sustainable gardens.

URBAN INTERVENTIONS Studio xi Site: Frome Road, Adelaide SA Media: hand drawing, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, photo montage Format: Poster + presentation Project Description: Focusing on urbanism within the Adelaide context. This project looks at a new strategic direction for Frome Road - a place for people that focuses on the surrounding history of the area and interactions with the businesses in the vicinity.

H I GH DENSITY LIVING design studio iv Site: Cnr Broadway and The Esplanade, Glenelg SA Media: InDesign, Rhinoceros, Enscape, Photoshop, Illustrator, Revit, physical models Format: Poster + Physical Models Project Description: Design a multi level high-density apartment building in a coastal environment, which includes a ground level market place. The project explored optimal ways to live within a coastal environment and reconciling the different typologies of private dwelling and public market programing.

GLENS IDE WETLAN D S design studio iii Site: Glenside Hospital grounds, SA Media: hand drawing, SketchUp, InDesign, Photoshop Format: Poster & Report Project Description: Working in small groups, we were required to present an urban development program for the Glenside site, to design a master plan that implements the proposed program, and to conceptualise and detail selected architectural and landscape design projects. The design work was presented in three stages — context study, conceptual design, and final design. 22

PIRIE ST OFFICE DESIGN construction ii Site: Pirie St, Adelaide SA Media: hand drawing, AutoCAD Format: Documentation Set Project Description: Our task was to prepare a set of drawings that clearly communicated our proposal for a new office building. I chose to hand draw the Design stage, and complete the construction documentation set on AutoCAD. 24

Site: Adelaide SA Media: model making, hand drawing, Rhinoceros, InDesign, photography Format: Model & Poster Project Description: These two projects explored the potential of space and voids to create an interactive ‘surface’. The design process involved a cycle of hand drawing, 3D software, and model making. Numerous reiterations were made between hand drawing concepts and 3D modeling software.

Site: Lamjung District, Nepal Media: communication, site documentation, painting, sanding, cleaning Format: Offshore Studio - Volunteer Program Project Description: As part of the offshore studio elective, I participated in a Community Development Program run by Aussie Action Abroad and Architects Without Frontiers. Tasks included: • Community consultations and site visits to measure up and document three potential projects for future programs. • Clean, repaint, and repair class rooms in a nearby school.

FURN I T U R E & C L O T H I N G personal projects Site: Adelaide SA Media: woodwork, carpentry, restoration, sewing Format: furniture and clothing Project Description: I enjoy working with old pallets to create raised beds for my home garden and a friend’s place. I’ve also used pallets to create three tables a trestle table, smaller desk, and coffee table (not pictured). Another interest of mine is creating clothing including tops and dresses. 32
