June SOSP: Health & Safety
What does SOSP stand for?
SOSP stands for Spotlight on service program. Every month we have a different organization that we direct our service projects towards.
June Mask Making Project
Carlmont is hosting a Mask Making Project for this month’s SOSP of Heath and Safety. Join us on June 19th to sew masks for hospitals and homeless shelters using cotton fabric. No sewing experience is needed! Contact Claire Bing ((650) 4211252) or Marrisa Chow ((650) 868-8340) to learn more.
What is Health & Safety?
Health and Safety is made up of the regulations and procedures implemented to prevent accidents within workplaces and public environments. As the school year comes to an end, a summer of service begins! Help to promote a healthy and safe lifestyle for everyone! Educate, promote, and participate in your community to stay active.
Health and Safety has especially been important throughout the pandemic as a foreign virus struck our cities. In order to keep ourselves safe, we followed guidelines and health protocols with mask wearing, but not everyone has these resources or enough of them to live their daily lives.
For this reason, this month’s SOSP service event at Carlmont Key Club is the Mask Making Project. Even as protocols lift and June 15th signifies the start of a new era, healthcare workers still need more masks and appreciate all the support they can get. Help us make a difference in our community.
