Well i was like that as a kid, always singing, always loved music. I fully began to have a passion for music when i was around 6 years old. I know it might sound insane but i knew that was the one thing I wanted to do for the rest of my life. A few years later, when I started high school and got introduced to music, at the time it was my favourite subject that I loved just to be in lesson and enjoy it as if it was my hobby and learning new things in music was my favourite bit of the lesson. As the years went by, in year 9, that was when I knew that I wanted to take music further in my life and change it from a hobby into more like a work and making the most of of it of my voice and hopefully being able to inspire young people into music just like I did. My family was super supportive and they just wanted the best for my future and to do something that I enjoy. My family have a brown background and I kind of grew up with the R&B music from my childhood till this day, listening to the classic r&b along with the souls, blues and old school. Till I discovered the pop and hip-hop R&B as it was also a one of the styles that I really got inspired and started to listen more to it more often just like I did with the other R&B genres back in my childhood. Along with the brown background root that ran through my family, my family as a whole is a very creative family, especially to when it comes to art, drama ans especially the biggest one of them all, music. When it came to music, my family would sound like a massive band with different members singing andlis-001 the other playing the different music instruments. Then you can already imagine when it came to parties. Holy mamma!! Its insane, it all sounds amazing but at the same time it sounds like we’re giving an concert! So one day at a family party I decided to talk to my uncle, as his a music producer and has worked with many different R&B artists, which are very known from today. For example; The Weeknd, Rihanna, Rita Ora and many more…

However, when me and my uncle started to work together 5 years ago, we started to produce the music on his very own studio as his job was working in a music studio. I still remember as if it was yesterday, when we would stay up late working together on the music, joking and laughing around and having a good time but also producing work together, something that we both love doing. Therefore, when we started to get music songs together, I would place place my cheap camera on my a tile of books together to stand like a tripod and to film me while I recorded on the studio. That was when my uncle persuaded me to post my videos onto YouTube and to start a music YouTube channel, as i would also post little clips onto my Instagram and Twitter account and see the most used hashtags at the time so I could use them too, to make the most out of it. A few months later, I started to take this dream seriously, I always did but I took it to the next level. The next level was when my uncle started to help me to build up my YouTube channel. We would record the sound in his studio and then one of my cousins would film me (as he was studying filming at that time in Sixth Form). Perhaps at this point of the story, you can tell that my family is very talented and we all have our individual talents. So I decided to ask my cousin to film me for all the songs that we would record at my uncle’s studio. We would film so many different takes and different montages, because if you know me, I’m always smiling and laughing and my cousin would try his best to make the video look as professional as possible. Back art at that time, we would record about three song covers each week, once I got the handle of it, it was easy to control. Of course I would go to school at that time too, I would learn as much from my music technology lessons and always use what I’ve learnt on my music covers that me, my uncle and my cousin would produce together. I would always try to keep up to date with my studies, especially if I wanted to achieve something from my studies I had to do as well as i was doing in music at that moment or I wouldn’t

” I can only write music that moves me. ”
So, me at the age of 15 I asked my uncle if he could help me to produce my own music as I had like a note book with my own songs and lyrics written down. So when he said yes with a big smile on his face I could feel that new doors we’re being opened into my future. Sadly the same uncle that I asked help, he had pasted away just 3 months ago which was devastating for my family as we’re all so attached to one another, but all of us will get through the tough times together as a family.
be where I am today and I wouldn’t go through this journey if it wasn’t with all the support and love I was always constantly receiving from my family. My family wasn’t rwenerally showing love between one another. A year later, my YouTube channel has grown massively just like I did with my passion with music. My YouTube channel went from zero subscribers and zero views to one million subscribers and over two million views as the song covers that I created we’re from current songs that would be famous and played, this included any music genre but most of my music covers we’re from the R&B music genre and just give them my acoustic version to the side of the song and some other more up beat to the song. At this point I had over 150 videos uploaded onto my YouTube channel and all I wanted was to show my talent even more each day to the people that subscribed my channel, I wanted to put my voice out there in the world and see if anyone would listen to me as I’m being myself through my voice and the songs I did covers of. On that same year, my father sadly passed away with cancer and it was such a shock for everyone in my family especially for my mother and me as we just lost one of the closest person ever on our life. As usual and

“I love the freedom I have by creating music and making other people happy!” as thankful I am, my family never left each other especially my mother and me as it was a really hard time that we had to go through. So I wrote a song dedicated to my dad, it was the first time I wrote an original song dedicated to someone so important, as this song is extremely personal to me but I still felt the need to share it. As brilliant as my uncle and my cousin is, I used the studio to record again and my cousin also did a video clip of this song of me singing along an like all the memories capture that I kept of me and my father from when I was little and growing onto the woman that I am today, all thanks to him and my mother. Once this song was recorded and the music video was ready I named the song ‘I will never forget’, that was when I posted the video on my YouTube channel. A week later, I had so much feedback from everyone, so many positive comments and so many caring comments dedicated to my father. I never knew that a personal song would get this far to be recognized all over the world. This was that one song that had over 250 million views on YouTube, within a month, I felt like this song blew the internet away.
I still remember my mum’s first experience when she heard this song and how emotional she got and now she tells me how proud she is of me and how far I became by never giving up on my dream since I was a little girl. My mum always reminds me to always work hard on what I’m doing as hard as the journey may seem and I will never forget what she always tells me “if you father was still here he would say how proud he is of his little girl”. The single ‘I will never forget’ was the song that got on the top charts after the video being uploaded onto my YouTube channel. I remember went it got to be number one hit single of 3 months in a row. I was overwhelmed, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Anywhere I would go I would hear my own song being played on the radio. At this point I could say that the whole of the U.K. knew my voice and my own personal lyrics which were dedicated to my father. At this point, later, in that same year I still remember like it was yesterday, even though it actually happened around a year ago. A Friday night, I was doing a mic night, a little gig in Watford and after it all finished a record company, Roc Nation, came up to me and invited me to be the guest for Rihanna’s Anti world tour to her recent album (Anti). I was speechless, I was known for being the 20 year old that took over the internet by my recent song dedicated to my father and soon to be travelling with one of the biggest artist in the world especially in R&b music genre, the one and only Rihanna. I got to travel for a whole year and I got to know Rihanna personally like person to person, even though I was already a huge fan of her and her music. This world tour allowed me to put my voice out there as an artist in the music world and try to tell what my lyrics on my song actually meant.
Once the tour was over I signed a contract with the music record company, Roc Nation and what that contract was basically used for, is for me having the company, Roc Nation as my company agent/ music agent for my whole career, as I could see myself talking this as a job and doing it for real besides of just writing, singing and recording and just uploading them on YouTube. So at this point it was official I had a company agency and I showed them my songs that I wrote and that I wanted to put on my own first ever album. So, early this year in January it was announced that Roc Nation was helping me to be my record label for my new album, as Roc Nation company was brand associated with the marketing of my music recording once my album was released and the music videos that I had from my my first ever album. Because this is my first ever album, in total the whole album has 20 different song tracks and within those tracks, 5 of the songs are singles that Roc Nation helped marketing the music videos for it. The first single that was released as a music video is the song that I wrote dedicated to my father ”I will never forget” and the four other tracks which are; ”light and darkness”, ”the way” featuring Kendrick Lamar, ”love down” featuring Rihanna and ”Innocent” featuring J.Cole. The name of this album is called ”Bad Reputation” because of the idea of how people are portrayed in the media now and my lyrics talks about people that are close to me and also the idea of how different races are portrayed in media and society. Also it talks about life in general, the idea that this is who we are and this is how we live, my lyrics are very thoughtful and has meaning and it can tell a story and that’s exactly what I want the person that is listening to my album wants to think about. My ”Bad reputation” album was announced in January and I just released it 2 months ago on the 5th May. It was released worldwide, on store and on Ti unes and Google Play. The reviews and the feedback was absolutely incredible, filled with positive comments, which really makes me happy and it gives me confidence to create more music to my fans out there in the world. ”Bad Reputation” album sold over 6 million copies within theses two months since the album was released and because it was such a success I am doing a Tour in the U.K. on the whole month of November 2017 and then I’m doing a Bad Reputation world tour to 20 different countries (countries will soon be announced on my website) where the tour is gonna take eight months, it will start on January 2018 and it will end August 2018. The reason why of me delaying the world tour till next year compared to the U.K tour in November is because I will be starting to work on my second album after November, which I will release the name of my second album which is going to be called “Believe”. Everything else and updates will be soon to be announced all in my music website ‘www.lisandrasilvamusic.com’, so keep yourself updated, new things to come.

“Play Live as much as you can!”

If you could meet any musician, alive or dead, who would it be? From @gemmabarrows If I could meet any musician, it would definitely be the queen of Pop and R&B, Queen B, Beyoncé. She has always been my inspiration since day one, since I was little. I basically grew up listening to her lyrics as you can tell with all my confidence and independence. I mean after all, who runs the world? Not gonna lie, I would love to work with her one day and have her angel voice featuring in one of my songs for my next album, that would be one of my life goals that I would love to achieve. I mean after all who doesn’t love Queen B? What’s the one thing that you have to make sure you pack on tour? From @emilyyyxx Black pants are a valuable sensible item. I usually burn them when I get home. Headphones are important and a must, especially when it comes in creating your own universe. A diffuser can be very useful for the unkempt venues. British bathrooms leave a lot o b desired, maybe we should start bringing a bar of Ivory along. Who’s your favorite from Fifth Harmony? From @izzyw0nderland Definitely Lauren Jauregui !!!!!! What is the song you are most excited for the fans to hear? From @alexworld I have no idea, they’re all pretty different so I’m excited for people to hear all of them. I like what I’m putting on the second album which is only going to be released some time in 2018, because it’s quite different from all the tracks that is on the first album ‘Bad Reputations’ compared to the one I’m working now ‘Believe’. What was the first concert you went to? From @inesxdematos My first concert that wasn’t an all ages show, with tons of bands or something, it was Rita Ora at Union Chapel- it was incredible and amazing! She is so talented and her music is amazing, if you know me, she is one of my favorite R&B solo female artists of all time!! Where is the album title inspired from? From @tommy19d It was from one of the songs that I wrote, which had the lyrics ‘my love is cool, my love bends rules.’ I just like that love and cool mean different things for different people, and the two things together sound important and exciting to me.
What’s your favorite song to perform live? From@jessvrx I like performing any songs, I mean I wrote my first album with my heart, I can’t really pick a specific song that I mostly enjoy performing on stage. The most song that I have performed, most of been the song that I wrote dedicated to my father, ‘I will never forget’, which is my favorite song and the most personal song I think I’ve ever wrote just about one person. Sometimes I wished I wrote this song before he passed away, but it all happened so quickly that he never had the change to listen to it, but I know up there his proud of me.
be doing gigs for my ‘Bad Reputation World Tour’ in 2018, I can’t wait! I love the artwork for your album and single releases. Where did the ideas for these come from? From @sarahcutex They’re all inspired from the narrative of the songs. I’ve worked with the artist Olivia Savage, with the aim to create imagery that’s equally unsettling and obscure as it is beautiful and cinematic. Is your family musical? From @woahliz Yes, my family is a very musical family. Whenever we’re together we end up singing songs all together, we’re so many that we could give a concert and let all our voices out the world.
If you ever had to duet with someone, alive or dead, who would it be? From @ohhhollyy Jason Derulo, his voice, I love it!!!! If you could go back in time to give yourself one piece of advice before starting a music career, what would it be? From @michaelfig Sing in your own voice. Record everything you write no matter how bad you may think it sounds, just do it and save it, so if you ever need in the future, there you go, you got it saved and you will thanks yourself for doing that, there’s always time to improvise. Also back it up three times, yes you read it right, three times, I’m sorry but you can thanks me later.
Do you teach music? From @izzyluv No, but I’ve been thinking about it! It could potentially happen in the future! Who knows? What personal advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue this career? From @timbarr Go to college, get a job, and work to build your fan base while you are still doing your other job. Once you have spent time investing in your music on the side, and once you feel like you have built an infrastructure to support making a living off of music then you can leave your job. Just don’t go into music cold turkey thinking you can go from making $0 to a couple thousand. That’s one of the biggest mistakes musicians make.
What is your favourite thing to see when you look out to the crowd during the gigs? From @harinyw I love seeing people that you would never expect to be there. Also, it’s amazing to make eye contact with somebody who is really enjoying the show, knowing that the energy you’re putting out is being a feedback to you. I also love when I see my mum or any family members that decide to come and see me perform, it literally makes me so happy and glad on how supportive and close my family actually is. If you could only watch one film for the rest of your life, what would it be? From @alanam The one film I would watch for the rest of my life would have to be Beauty and the Beast, best film ever made, and one of my favourite films since I was a baby. The version that I would watch would be the newest version which was released on the 17th March 2017. Best re-make of all time, it’s a good time to be alive!! Will you come Asia? From @clairex Yes! Asia is one of the countries that I will
How important is image? From @davidko0l You are essentially your music. People will often base whether they like your music on whether they like you. Since we’re living in a time when it’s easy to connect with your favorite artist via Facebook and Twitter, connecting with artists all of a sudden feels so much more personal. Your image is basically an extension of your music. It’s the first thing people see and the lens through which they will view your music. What is your advice on touring? From @tylerw Begin to book your tour 4-5 months in advance. It will ensure that you secure the best venues while on the road. If you try to book a tour 1 month in advance, it will crash and burn…especially since venues are booking anywhere from 3-6 months in advance.

R E V I A
fter After the first album ‘Revolution’ being a big success on the R&B music charts, for two whole months in a row. A month today, 5th June he released his brand new album ‘Mystery’. He shared with the Vocals magazine, the behind the scenes information about the story behind the creation of the album. As Ross Ocean explained on his interview with the Vocals magazine, he discussed that his first album, ‘Revolution’, was and still is a very personal album to himself that he wanted to share with his fans but because he feels like his fans know him so well, he just recently released ‘Mystery’ which is extra personal to himself, the fact that his lyrics we’re written about his personal experiences and his struggles and suffering moments. He claimed to the magazine, that his new lyrics for each song represent who he is and what he has achieved in life. He also said that the reason why his second album is so personal and represents who he is, it’s because he wants to tell the world and the media who he truly is as an R&B artist and the ways the media would portray him. ‘Starting from the bottom and now we’re here!’ that’s the way he tells his way of success in the music world as he tells that he has already achieved his dream and his still living it. The story behind this album is about his love life, not just referring to his crushes but also the love within his family and the experiences and struggles he suffered while loving his family. That’s why the purple picture behind the girl, it’s crowed of family, which represents his family. And then the effect of the burnt picture takes over the whole album artwork, which is a picture of his girlfriend, as he confirms they have been dating for a a couple of years now. The meaning of her being the love of his life, there is not cliche love songs about the love of my life, the lyrics go more deeper than that, it explains our experiences and certain memories we have had together a as I wrote them down and turned them into a song, so I can forever remember them.” he tell the Vocals Magazine.

Ross Ocean says that if it wasn’t for the his family and for his girlfriend, he would of never tried to go to X-Factor. His family has persuaded him and gave him all the support since the start of the auditions till to this day. He was the winner of X-Factor two years ago in 2015. “I was 21 years old at that time, it was the best experience of my life, I learnt so much from the judges feedback and I would always take it and use it to improve for my net performance. I can fully say they we’re like teachers to me.” Today, he makes to be on the reviews page of the best album of the month, after the album being released a month before and already having over 5 millions listeners on Spotify and over 3 million copies sold worldwide.
‘I want to write so many more albums because I have so many lyrics and songs to record but I have a limited number of tracks to add on each album, I will for sure release many many many more albums in the next few years, I want to feed my fans with my voice and my personal lyrics and songs for many years, making music is my job and not going to lie, I think I’m pretty good at it!’ The Vocals magaine, had the pleasure to review this album from the start till the end. Our reviews is that this album is absolutely amazing and all the songs has a purpose to it and have deep quotes to it. While you’re listening to the album you would listen to the lyrics and focus on them, it just naturally happens while your listening to the tracks. This album has 20 tracks and all of them have different meanings and tunes to it, that’s what makes this album so unique on his own way. This album also includes the singles that broke the internet and the charts, ‘work out’, ‘beautiful minds’ featuring Kehlani. This album is filled with surprises, five of the song tracks include incredible features. The first track is called ‘Now or never’ featuring Ne-yo and
Jason Derulo. The second track is under the name ‘24/7 on my head’ featuring Calvin Harris and Kendrick Lamar. The third track is called ‘full time’ featuring Rihanna and J.Cole. The forth track is called ‘suffered moment featuring Rita Ora. At last and not least the fifth track is called ‘permanent’ featuring Cheat Codes, Ariana Grande and Bryson Tiller. ‘Collaborating with all these artist was incredible experience, we all became so much closer and started hanging out more often.” Ross Ocean announced during the interview with the Vocals magazine, that he will be doing a worldwide tour for his newest album ‘Mystery’. Because nothing is fully planned yet, he didn’t announce the dates from when the tour would start and when it would finish. The name tour is already placed on his music website (rossoceanmusic.co.uk) and the tour name is called ‘Mystery Tour’. He has also announced to the Vocals magazine that there would be 17 different countries and that he will be performing for the ‘Mystery Tour’ ad special guests included as he thinks the fans deserve it for all the support they have been giving to Ross Ocean. Ross Ocean will be performing three nights for each country, so the tickets won’t be sold out as quick as it was for the ‘Revolution Tour’, ans he has also announced that if needed he will included extra dates. Let’s see if Ross Ocean makes to be on the reviews page on the next month, August, issue magazine. Keep updated on our website (vocalsmagazine.co.uk) to see all the latest updates on reviews.
